They do not need any more that center around Maxx Crosby. The star edge rusher’s status with the team has been a subject of speculation for a long time now, and even though a blockbuster trade with the Baltimore Ravens controversially fell through, fans still want to know if he will suit up for the Silver and Black this upcoming season.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter does not expect a uniform change to take place any time soon, or ever.

“I see him staying in Vegas, helping this team and being a Raider for life,” he said on his namesake podcast, per the SleeperRaiders X account.
If Schefter’s hunch proves accurate, then a special story may soon unfold.
Originally, Crosby and the Raiders both agreed it was time to part ways during the offseason. The two-time Second Team All-Pro’s peak does not seemingly coincide with the embattled franchise’s competitive timetable, but when the Ravens backed out of the deal and instead filled their pass-rushing needs with Trey Hendrickson, scrambling to get a trade done no longer seemed practical.
Lingering concerns about Crosby’s knee (he underwent surgery for a torn meniscus in January) likely would prevent Las Vegas from acquiring the draft capital it seeks in return for the 28-year-old. It might make more sense to keep the homegrown player and lean on him during this pivotal transition into the Mendoza era. Crosby wants to make the most of this surreal turn of events and win games in the only NFL home he has ever known.
First-year head coaches have sparked turnarounds before, so perhaps Klint Kubiak deserves at least one season at the helm before the Raiders enact significant roster changes. No. 98 already had love for Las Vegas and should now be even more motivated to succeed after Baltimore’s snub. Can a brutal day in Charm City pave the way for a perfect ending in The Entertainment Capital of the World? He is certainly eager to find out.
Crosby will enter his eighth NFL campaign with 69.5 sacks, 439 combined tackles, 133 tackles for loss and 11 forced fumbles in his career.
