(NewsNation) — At the request of the White House, Dr. Phil McGraw reviewed the unreleased UAP files to gauge how the public might react to them.
He said he believes the Trump administration trusted him with the review because he has been a trusted voice on television for years and is also part of the Religious Liberty Commission established by President Donald Trump.
“I think we have to look at what’s going on with all of this in different pieces,” McGraw said. “What are we going to disclose to the American public, but once we tell them what we tell them, what are we going to do with reaction?”
McGraw added he is concerned about that reaction, because the human exceptionalism could be altered. He also said it could have effects on certain demographics, like the elderly and those who are easily destabilized and the scammers who could take advantage of the revelations.
“That can change the whole belief system and our religious beliefs,” he continued.
However, he says the government’s excuse of being scared to reveal information to the public because it’s “too shocking” is not true, as he believes it’s “patronizing.”
“I have sat with people, and I’ve seen them deal with difficult situations time and again,” McGraw said. “I think we are very resilient as the human race.”
