ARLINGTON - The Rangers are already down one starter on the left side of their infield but believe they've avoided a serious injury from another.
Rangers third baseman Josh Jung said that his tight calf feels "fine" after he exited Tuesday's win over the Chicago White Sox at Globe Life Field, and although he won't start Wednesday's series finale, he doesn't believe there's any reason for concern. Manager Skip Schumaker said that Jung underwent treatment and scans before Wednesday's game and feels "better" than he did the night before.
"I've seen him with calf injuries before that have not been good," Schumaker said. "It's nothing like it was in the offseason, so that part is good. So hopefully we dodged a bullet."

Jung has largely been healthy this year after a myriad of injuries plagued his first three-plus big league seasons. The 28-year-old missed significant time because of a broken thumb and fractured wrist in his first two seasons, but this year, he's avoided the injured list despite bouts with shoulder and knee soreness.
He's slashed .294/.361/.441 with nine home runs in 92 games this season.
