A Lancaster County community is hoping to raise money for the family of a 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed.

A GoFundMe was created to help the grieving mother of Wilfredo Garcia, who was shot on Saturday evening on the 900 block of Plane Street in Columbia, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.

“Hi, my name is Tamara. I’m a mother of three,” the GoFundMe reads. “This morning my son was killed. It’s hard for me rn, and all I’m asking is for support. Please, anything helps. In Jesus’ name, I pray we all be blessed and that violence stops. It took my son from me at the age of 17. Please show love.”

At the time of publication, $892 has been fundraised out of the $4k goal. The creator of the GoFundMe could not be reached for comment.

Garcia, who lived at the home where he was found, was shot once, the coroner’s office said. A Monday autopsy found he died from a gunshot wound to the head and neck.

His death was ruled a homicide.

Columbia police said detectives interviewed witnesses at the scene Saturday night. No arrests have been made as of Monday evening.

Anyone with information is asked to call Borough police at 717-684-2120.

Pollalis yelled at the driver and raised his...
