If you’re a fan of superhero games, then the future is action-packed with unique adventures, enemies to defeat, and worlds to save. The portfolio of Marvel games is set to grow in 2026 and beyond, with many interesting characters that you’ll be all too familiar with, starring in their own stories.
Most recently in the Marvel video games universe, the pixel-art beat-'em-up, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion launched in December 2025 to a positive reception. Elsewhere, Marvel Rivals continues to receive seasonal updates with fresh characters, maps, and events to participate in.
Without further ado, let’s dive into all the upcoming Marvel entries and all the details we know about them so far.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Assemble Your Dream Team
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag team fighting game by Arc System Works, where you assemble your team from the 20 iconic Marvel characters at launch, each of which are shrouded in a new anime-inspired art style.
Experimentation with compositions to discover new combinations to chain is encouraged, allowing you to develop new strategies along the way, with numerous move sets to master. The roster of fighters will grow, thanks to post-launch updates, offering more variety to gameplay.
Battles will take place on dynamic stages based on locations from across the Marvel Universe, some of which have interactive stage transitions. Face off against a friend locally or embark on more action-packed combat with up to 64 players in an online lobby, including standard VS modes. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls also has a single-player Episode Mode containing lore and opportunities to learn about the dynamics between the characters.
The MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls release date is August 6, 2026, on PS5 and PC.
Marvel’s Wolverine
Out For Blood
Perhaps the most highly anticipated PS5 exclusive of 2026, Marvel’s Wolverine by Insomniac Games is an original story where you take on the role of the iconic character. Three years after leaving his team, Wolverine rejoins the mutant task force, Team X, as the only force who can stop Bolivar Trask from kidnapping mutants.
It’s expected that the narrative will take you on an emotional journey, with themes of identity, loyalty, and the struggle within to uncover the truth of Wolverine’s past that you’ll be forced to confront.
I’m sure that the combat will be nothing short of brutal. Wolverine does have razor sharp claws, after all. You will be able to evolve your techniques depending on the foes you’re dealing with, and gain Rage to truly rip enemies to shreds. All of this will take place in locations across the world, including Madripoor, the Canadian wilderness, and the streets of Tokyo.
Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on PS5 on September 15, 2026.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
A High-Stakes Battle Back in Time
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is another upcoming Marvel narrative adventure, and it was announced in 2021. It revolves around Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, who must set their differences aside to form an alliance with the goal of taking down a common enemy. Fighting alongside Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, a Wakandan spy based in occupied Paris, they must put an end to an evil plan that threatens to turn the tides of World War Two into the definitive rise of Hydra.
Details on what you can expect from Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra are limited, but that’s hardly surprising considering the game has been delayed multiple times. In May 2025, it was delayed to early 2026, before it was delayed again just a few months later to beyond early 2026. Now, it’s expected that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra won’t launch until 2027 at the earliest.
When Skydance Media’s Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is released, it will be playable on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Marvel’s Blade
When Night Falls
Marvel’s Blade is a third-person game that takes place in a quarantined section of Paris in the middle of a supernatural emergency. Vampires have risen and are taking over the city, forcing its residents to shelter inside their homes at night to wait until they can re-emerge at sunrise. Who better to fight against this threat than Eric Brooks, also known as Blade, the half-man, half-vampire Daywalker.
Due to mass layoffs at Xbox, the future of Marvel’s Blade and its developer, Arkane Lyon, is uncertain. However, Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma, said in an email sent to all Xbox employees, later posted on X, “none of our first party publicly announced games or projects are being canceled as part of these reductions.”
If Marvel’s Blade ever sees the light of day, it will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Marvel’s Iron Man
Suit Up
As of early 2023, a third-person Iron Man action-adventure game has been in development at Motive Studio, also known for the development of the Dead Space Remake and Star Wars: Squadrons.
The game will introduce you to a new story that delves into the history of Iron Man, with the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, shining through. The goal is to allow you to feel what it’s really like to play as and be Iron Man.
Further information is yet to emerge, but I imagine you will be able to make use of Iron Man’s advanced weaponry and flight mechanics.
Since details on the title are scarce, a release date and specifics on what platforms Marvel’s Iron Man game will be on haven’t been announced, at the time of writing.
