Four men have been charged with kidnapping and assault after a man was found tied up with an extension cord at a home in Nantucket, Mass.
At around 4:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, July 16, the Nantucket Police Department responded to a report that someone was being attacked at a home on Essex Road, NBC10 Boston reported.
Massachusetts State Police troopers found a 28-year-old man tied up with an extension cord. He was treated at the scene by the Nantucket Fire Department and transported to Nantucket Cottage Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, per NBC10 Boston and Boston 25 News.
According to The Boston Globe, the man was bleeding from his nose and mouth and his face was scraped.
Calray Brown, 31, Dijon Hazel, 30, Alvin Barnett, 21, and Newton Lawrence, 34, all of Nantucket, were arrested, per Boston 25 News.
It’s believed the men confronted the victim in the parking lot of nearby Winter Park and forced him to the home, per the outlet. Police claim they beat him using their fists, an 18-inch wooden stake, and kicked him multiple times.
The victim told police he thought one of the suspects hit him with a hammer, per The Boston Globe.
The four men have each been charged with one count of kidnapping, one count of assault, 16 counts of assault and battery and four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to Boston 25 News.
All four have been released on bail and are set to be arraigned on Monday, July 20, per the outlet.

Police have not said whether the victim knew the suspects, and a potential motive is not known at this stage, NBC10 Boston reported.
PEOPLE reached out to the Nantucket Police Department for comment but did not immediately hear back.
