Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Ram 1500 vehicles. The headlight wiring may cause the parking lights and daytime running lights to flicker on and off, or fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Descriptive Information

Some 2026 Model Year Ram 1500 vehicles with premium headlamp assemblies may experience intermittent Parking Lamps and Daytime Running Lights (“DRLs”) illumination.

The suspect period began on October 29, 2025, when production of vehicles with suspect premium headlamp assemblies began, and concluded on February 16, 2026, when production of vehicles with suspect premium headlamp assemblies ended. Supplier and vehicle production records were used to determine the suspect vehicle population.

Similar vehicles not included in this recall are built before or after the suspect period, or without premium headlamp assemblies.

Description of defect or noncompliance:

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) No. 108 S6.1.1 referencing Table I requires subject vehicles’ Parking Lamps and DRL’s (if equipped) to be steady burning when activated. Suspect vehicles may illuminate the DRLs and Parking Lamps intermittently.

Description of the safety risk, including crash, fire, death, injury:

Parking lamps and DRLs which turn off or flicker when not intended may reduce the conspicuity of the vehicle which may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

Description of the cause:

None stated.

Identification of any warning that can occur:

None prior to failure. However, some customers may notice degraded function of the lamps and/or a message in the cluster.

Chronology

On April 16, 2026, the FCA US LLC (“FCA US”) Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (“TSRC”) organization opened an investigation into some 2026 Modeal Year Ram 1500 vehicles with premium headlamp assemblies (LM6) that may experience intermittent Parking Lamps and DRLs.

From April 2026 through May 2026, FCA US TSRC met with FCA US Engineering to understand root cause, customer consequence and vehicle scope.

From April 2026 through May 2026, FCA US TSRC conducted an analysis of field records and customer assistance records to understand potential customer consequences.

On June 10, 2026, FCA US TSRC organization recognized that a vehicle build issue existed on certain vehicles related to premium headlamp assemblies, potentially resulting in a noncompliance with FMVSS No. 108.

On June 25, 2026, FCA US determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, that a noncompliance to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108 exists in certain vehicles.
