Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was a real surprise hit. The Nemesis System really delivered on the early hype and the original narrative added so much to Lord of the Rings lore. However, the sequel had to allow players to access those powers of mind control from the start, while adding to the Nemesis System that they loved.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War, which was released back in 2017 by Monolith Productions, was truly ambitious in its storytelling. With siege mechanics introduced pretty early on and players able to create their own personal rivalries as soon as the first mission was complete, it felt as if the mechanics of Shadow of Mordor had been finely tuned to give immediate fun.

Forza Horizon 5 follows a rich tradition which sees Microsoft consistently releasing racing games that are precise in their mechanics and standout in their graphics. The Forza series just keeps on improving and whether players want to access the open-world inspired by Mexico, or embark on a solo campaign, Forza really opens the door early on.
This isn't one of those racing games that seems to hide the actual fun behind lots of cut scenes and constant, complex challenges.
