Sunday's final match of the FIFA World Cup broke ratings records across the board.

The final, which saw Spain overtake Argentina to win the 2026 World Cup, brought in a combined 62.8 million viewers across Fox, Telemundo and Peacock.

23.9 million viewers tuned in to Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo and Peacock -- making it the most-watched soccer match ever in Spanish-language media history -- while the match brought in 38.9 million viewers on Fox, making it the most-watched soccer telecast in U.S. history.

Viewership for English-language coverage of the match on Fox peaked with 51.7 million viewers from 5:45-6 p.m. ET.

On Fox, viewership was up 132% over the 2022 World Cup final telecast, which brought in 16.8 million viewers. The match also marked the most-watched non-NFL telecast on any network since 2016, when the World Series Game 7 on Fox scored 40.05 million viewers.

The final match stands ahead of the 2026's Mexico-England, which stands as the second most-watched soccer match ever in Spanish-language media history with 23.2 million viewers.

The World Cup has brought in historic viewership since its onset in June, with nearly every round setting records across both English-language coverage on Fox and Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo and Peacock.

Overall, English-language coverage on Fox averaged 7.7 million viewers across 104 matches on Fox, FS1 and Tubi, marking the most-watched FIFA World Cup in U.S. history. Likewise, Telemundo and Peacock's Spanish-langauge coverage averaged 6.3 million viewers across the 104 matches, rising 143% over the 2022 tournament, which averaged 2.6 million viewers.

Sunday's match saw Spain and Argentina play extra time after remaining 0-0 for the allotted 90 minutes, with Spain's Ferran Torres scoring the winning goal.

Star power was on display during the halftime show, which saw musicians including Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and Burna Boy take the stage alongside cameos from "Ted Lasso" stars Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt.
