Spain World Cup hero Ferran Torres made a bold headwear choice during Monday's victory parade in Madrid.

Torres scored in extra time of the 2026 World Cup final on Sunday, July 19, giving Spain a 1-0 victory over Argentina.

The following day, Spain returned home to celebrate its second World Cup title. Nearly two million people were estimated to be in attendance for an open-top bus parade and celebration at the Plaza de Cibeles just outside Madrid city hall.

Torres was front and center of the festivities. The Barcelona forward raised eyebrows by wearing an almost identical hat to the "Make America Great Again" headwear made famous by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The only difference between Torres' headwear and a MAGA hat was his usage of "Spain" instead of "America" in the lettering.

Torres has yet to explain the hat, leading to all kinds of speculation over his motive.

Some saw it as a tribute to Trump, who lingered on the podium during the trophy presentation at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Others thought Torres was mocking Trump, who has repeatedly attacked Spain’s government in recent years.

The White House was unsurprisingly quick to claim that Torres was riding for MAGA, posting a video on X with the caption: "Everyone wants in on the movement."
