Where is Shakira from?
Shakira was born and raised in Colombia. She began her music career right at home in Colombia, signing with Sony Music Colombia at just 14 years old. While she ultimately went global, Shakira stayed true to her roots and continued to release music in Spanish.
The 49-year-old has remained passionate about Colombia since becoming the de facto voice of the World Cup. When Colombia won a World Cup match in early June, Shakira celebrated the victory while backstage on her concert tour:
While Shakira doesn't have a dog in the fight at the World Cup final, each of her former long-term partners was from one of the countries represented. She dated Antonio de la Rua, the son of a former Argentina president, from 2000 to 2010, and she spent 11 years dating former Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique from 2011-22. While the two never married, they did have two children together.

Shakira was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, currently the fourth-most populous city in the country. Barranquilla is located near the northern coast of Colombia, just to the north and west of Cartagena.
Where does Shakira live now?
Shakira has lived in a handful of different locations over the years, but she has owned a mansion in Miami since 2001.
The singer lived in Uruguay for a time during her relationship with de la Rua, and she settled down in Barcelona while dating Pique and raising children, but she said after their split that returning to Miami was always the plan and continues to live in South Florida.
