Apple Inc. AAPL stock was little changed in Wednesday’s premarket session, slipping 0.04% to $327.60 as broader technology stocks weakened. Nasdaq futures fell 0.87%, while S&P 500 futures were down 0.32%.

Investors are also watching whether Apple can hold onto its recent gains after a strong rally. The company is scheduled to report fiscal third-quarter earnings after the market closes on July 30.

Technical Picture Remains Bullish

Apple continues to trade in a longer-term uptrend. The stock is 6.3% above its 20-day simple moving average of $308.48 and 19.2% above its 200-day SMA of $274.94. The 20-day SMA also remains above the 50-day SMA of $304.24, signaling that the intermediate trend is still positive.

Momentum indicators also support the bullish outlook. The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) remains above its signal line, suggesting buying momentum is improving despite recent price consolidation.

The next key support sits near $287.50, close to the 100-day SMA of $283.32. That area could attract buyers if broader market weakness continues. On the upside, investors will watch whether Apple can retest its 52-week high of $334.99 if market sentiment improves.

Earnings In Focus

Apple is scheduled to report fiscal third-quarter earnings on July 30.

Wall Street expects earnings of $1.89 per share, up from $1.57 a year earlier, on revenue of $108.86 billion, compared with $94.04 billion in the prior-year quarter.

The stock carries a consensus Buy rating with an average analyst price forecast of $325.14. Recent analyst actions include HSBC upgrading the stock to Buy with a $366 price forecast on July 17, KeyBanc downgrading it to Underweight with a $250 price forecast on July 14, and Citigroup reiterating Buy while raising its price forecast to $365 on July 13.

Premium Valuation Remains A Watch Point

According to Benzinga Edge, Apple scores highly for momentum and quality but ranks poorly on value, reflecting its premium valuation. The stock trades at about 39.7 times earnings, leaving it more vulnerable to broader market pullbacks if investor sentiment weakens.

Apple also remains a top holding in major growth-focused exchange-traded funds, including the Schwab U.S. Large-Cap Growth ETF, iShares S&P 100 ETF and T. Rowe Price Blue Chip Growth ETF. As a result, fund flows into or out of those ETFs can have an outsized impact on Apple shares.

AAPL Stock Price Activity: Apple shares were down 0.04% at $327.60 during premarket trading on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
