The start of a new month is also a great time to address any clutter issues. Whether you’re swapping out lightweight jackets for heavy outerwear or storing outdoor accessories for snow gear, there’s a good chance you’ve been dealing with a bit of chaos. In my household, I definitely came across similar issues, and I’ve suffered through more than a couple of moments where I’ve given up.
Rather than spending any more time debating where to start, I turned to the experts to help me find some trustworthy decluttering solutions. I asked 10 professional organizers to help me identify some of the most common home organization mistakes and share the products they use to manage the chaos in their own homes. Check them out below.

“The best way to maximize the use of the space is to use a multi-level organizer with drawers that takes advantage of all of the height available under the sink,” explains professional organizer of Living Simplified, Lauren Saltman. “Choose an organizer that is easy to clean, fits around all of those pipes, and has smooth-gliding drawers. You can put makeup in one drawer, nail care in another, hair products in another, and if you like to bring home those mini-shampoos and other products from hotels, be sure to have a bin for those as well!”

“Something that can instantly make any space look cluttered is messy cables and cords,” explains Mike Fretto, creative director of outdoor furniture brand, Neighbor. “When they are clearly visible and not arranged neatly, that can easily give the appearance of clutter.
