Jessica Chastain stars in a new horror movie called 'The Other Mommy'

Moviegoers flocked to the theaters over the weekend to take in Christopher Nolan's newest film, The Odyssey. The epic set a new career record for the director, as he depicted the arduous journey Odysseus (Matt Damon) takes to return to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland).

But audiences got a bit of a shock before the movie in the form of an unexpected and terrifying new trailer. Other Mommy, a horror movie starring Jessica Chastain, took everyone by surprise pre-show with a jump-scare that would get any unsuspecting viewer.

The story is based on a 2024 novel by Josh Malerman with the title Incidents Around the House. It follows a little girl, Bela (Arabella Olivia Clark), who starts seeing an entity that resembles her mother (Chastain).

Other Mommy, which is directed by Rob Savage, is scheduled to release this fall on Oct. 9.
