Nigel Walker has been appointed as the new chairman of Welsh Athletics.
The former Olympic hurdler and Wales rugby international has served as vice chair for the past 12 months and will take over from outgoing chair Steve Perks.
Walker's athletics career saw him represent Great Britain in the 110m hurdles at the 1984 Olympics, and Wales at the 1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games.
He then transitioned into rugby, making 121 appearances for Cardiff and 17 for Wales.
Walker has also held some significant leadership roles, having served as CEO of the English Institute of Sport, Performance Director and Interim CEO of the WRU and most recently Interim CEO of English Basketball.
"I am delighted to have been appointed to become chair of Welsh Athletics when Steve's term comes to an end," said Walker.
"I am looking forward to working with the board and the executive to continue the progress made over the past years."
