Crysencio Summerville set for £68m move from West Ham to Al Hilal

West Ham have agreed a £68 million deal to sell winger Crysencio Summerville to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

This figure represents a significant increase on the £39 million bid previously understood to have been made by Serie A side Roma, with Manchester United and Aston Villa also having shown interest in the 24-year-old.

Summerville, who still has three years remaining on his contract at the London Stadium, has been widely expected to depart following West Ham's relegation from the Premier League in May.

Liverpool turn attention to Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche?

After Andoni Iraola made clear that Liverpool “definitely need to sign a winger” this month, the Reds have reportedly turned their attention towards Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche.

The 24-year-old, who is left footed, was part of France’s World Cup squad and has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain this summer. He scored six goals and made six assists for Monaco in Ligue 1 last season.

Sky Sports News are reporting that Liverpool have made an “initial approach” for Akliouche and have made an enquiry about his availability this summer. PSG have also been linked to another Liverpool target, Yan Diomande.

West Ham to sell Crysencio Summerville for £60m

West Ham have agreed a £60m deal with Al Hilal for winger Crysencio Summerville, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Summerville was expected to leave West Ham following their relegation to the Championship and the Saudi Pro League side are set to beat interest from Premier League clubs in the 24-year-old Netherlands winger.

West Ham have already sold Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham Hotspur in an £85m move, but captain Jarrod Bowen has confirmed that he will remain at the club next season.

Morgan Rogers has revealed how ongoing conversations with Cole Palmer led to his record transfer to Chelsea.

“I’ve known Cole since I was about 14, first in the England [youth] teams and then when we were both at Man City together,” Rogers told Chelsea’s website after signing a seven-year deal.

While interest in Bruno Guimaraes swirls, a younger option for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal is Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, who caught the eye with a number of impressive performances for Morocco at the World Cup on their run to the quarter-finals.

The 18-year-old is physical, composed on the ball and has a good range of passing, which has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Manchester City may actually lead the race ahead of Arsenal for the youngster, who is valued at around €100m (£85m), especially with L’Equipe reporting that PSG have pulled out of the running.

City are said to be keen to integrate Bouaddi into the first-team squad immediately, whereas other suitors may send him back on loan to Lille for a season.

Lucas Bergvall attracting interest from across Premier League

Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall is a key target for both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest this summer, with the Magpies recently having a £46m bid turned down for the 20-year-old Swede.

Spurs have also turned down an approach from Forest, which was said to be lower than Newcastle’s bid, as they’re keen to recoup a higher fee, with Bergvall under contract until 2031.

Newcastle and Forest have lost Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson respectively this summer, so are eyeing midfield reinforcements and Bergvall is keen to move on after not getting the opportunities in his preferred No 8 position under Roberto De Zerbi.

Nottingham Forest are keen on Sporting Lisbon centre-back Ousmane Diomande, reports Portuguese newspaper Record.

The Ivory Coast international has a £68.2m release clause in his contract, but the report details how Forest could bid £34.1m for the 22-year-old.

Chelsea interested in free agent John Stones

John Stones is a free agent after leaving Manchester City at the end of last season and Chelsea are one of the teams interested in signing the 32-year-old England international, according to the BBC.

Stones made just five starts for Manchester City in the Premier League last season but was part of the England side that reached the semi-finals of the World Cup and the Blues are interested in his experience.

Chelsea’s interest in new centre-backs to improve their defence may not there under new boss Xabi Alonso, and Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix is the priority target.

The 26-year-old played three times at the World Cup for France and negotiations are ongoing between Chelsea, Palace and the player’s camp, with Lacroix himself keen on moving to Stamford Bridge.

Ipswich have completed the signing of Issa Diop from Fulham in a deal worth a reported £8.5m.

It follows the arrival of Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu from Leicester as well as Dutch goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen. The Tractor Boys are also said to have agreed a deal to sign Japan forward Daizen Maeda from Celtic.

When asked about his targets this summer, Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola said a wide player was top of his list.

"There are obvious situations where we need to sign players. Winger for example, we definitely need to sign a winger, but there are other situations where we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what is the cost, how we also see the players we have,” he said.

The pay-off comes down the line if Chelsea ever struggle to generate immediate revenue from sales, though the world class Cobham academy is an asset that should provide comfort in this regard.

Saints were thrown out of the Championship play-offs by the EFL in May over the affair and docked four points for the coming season.

The club admitted spying on a training session held by play-off opponents Middlesbrough in May, and on sessions at Ipswich and Oxford earlier in the season.

On May 21 the FA confirmed it was investigating the matter, and on Wednesday it announced charges had been brought.

Aston Villa have entered talks to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea, with Sky Sports News reporting that the Blues will listen to any offers that reach £42.7m (€50m) for the winger this summer.

Xabi Alonso does not want to keep Garnacho, while Aston Villa have just sold Morgan Rogers to the Blues. Villa have shown that they are willing to take players on loan, such as Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, and could be tempted be a similar deal for Garnacho that includes an option to buy further down the line.

Garnacho struggled at Chelsea last season but the 22-year-old is still young and undoubtedly showed some potential at Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford looks set to return to Manchester United after his £40m exit clause expired. The winger has been linked to several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, but The I Paper reports that the 28-year-old is now expected to stay at Old Trafford and given the chance to resurrect his career.

Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, rather successfully, but the Catalan giants chose not to pick up the €30m (£26m) option to make the deal permanent and instead signed another Englishman – Anthony Gordon – to play on the left wing for them. United are reportedly hesitant to let Rashford leave permanently to another Premier League club, in case he flourishes with them.

Bournemouth have rejected an approach from Chelsea for midfielder Alex Scott and the Cherris have reportedly made it clear that they will not be selling the England Under-21 international this summer.

However, the BBC have reported that Scott has rejected a new contract and has told Bournemouth that he is not willing to agree a new deal. The BBC report states that Chelsea’s bid was £64m but Bournemouth do not want to sell.

His current deal runs until 2028, so Bournemouth are not under pressure to sell this summer, having turned down one approach from Chelsea already.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also very interested as they seek help in the engine room and it would be a coup if any of the trio could prise Scott away from the south coast.

Sky News reported that Bezos has held “discussions” with the group, with talks still at an early stage.

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola confirmed last night that the club “needs to sign a winger” this summer, and the Reds have since been linked with Spain’s World Cup winner Ferran Torres.

That’s according to journalist Ekrem Konur, who claims that his club Barcelona need to raise funds to sign Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez this summer.

Arsenal are prepared to step up their pursuit of Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes but have been told that a fee of £100m will be needed to sign the Brazil international midfielder.

Newcastle believe the fee Tottenham paid for Sandro Tonali should set the benchmark for any interest in their captain, yet the Gunners are still said to poised to “accelerate” their interest, according to the Telegraph.

Guimaraes, 28, has emerged as a key leader for Newcastle since his arrival on Tyneside in January 2022, and became their first captain to lift domestic silverware in 70 years when they won the Carabao Cup.

He signed a new five-year deal at St James’ Park in October 2023, but Newcastle failed to qualify for the Champions League last season and finished 12th in a disappointing campaign for Eddie Howe’s side.
