Ingredients
For The Tea
- 4 black tea bags or 2 tablespoons loose black tea
- 4 cups boiling water
- ¼ cup granulated sugar optional, adjust to taste
- For the Lemonade:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice about 4–5 lemons
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups cold water
To Serve
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices or mint leaves optional, for garnish
Instructions
- Pour 4 cups of boiling water over the tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and stir in sugar (if using) while the tea is still warm. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
- In a pitcher, whisk together lemon juice, sugar, and 2 cups of cold water until the sugar is dissolved.
- Combine equal parts cooled tea and lemonade (about 3 cups each) in a large pitcher and stir well.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon slices or mint leaves, if desired.
