One The Price Is Right contestant is speaking out after winning a car on the game show. He advised hopeful contestants and provided an update on his cancer journey.
John Kincade, who is the radio host on Kincade and Salciunas, appeared on the show on October 27, 2025. His episode aired on June 29, 2026, as part of the Summer reruns.
Kincade shared on The Fanatic that The Price Is Right helped him through his seven months of chemotherapy and a grueling surgery while he was battling Stage 3 colon cancer between 2023 and 2024. He has been a fan of the game show since he was a child.
He finally decided to make the trip out to California in August 2025 and audition himself. Kincade made a shirt that said, “Survived cancer 3 times for The Price Is Right.”
During his time on the show, Kincade won the second item up for bid, which was a 16-piece Ergo Chef cutlery set. He had the highest bid of $650. Since it was worth $900, Kincade won the knives and got to play a game for another prize.
He played Card Game for a KIA Soul and guessed the right range. The car was worth $2,120. Kincade spun a 1.20 on the Showcase wheel, so he did not advance.
Now, working at a radio station in Philadelphia, Kincade is giving advice to those who are coming to the audition in the city on July 22 at Rivers Casino. He told his local CBS News station, “Go to the local contestant search here. Sell yourself, and if you get to make that trip to California, you’re going to absolutely love it.”
“Be sure that you are confident, excited, but you’re not too over the top,” Kincade said. “And be a bibliophile of the show because that absolutely helps,” Kincade as advice for the contestants. He also said to wear something bright or something that helps to tell your story.
“To get your name called and to get on contestant’s row, a lifelong dream was realized,” Kincade went on. He battled colon cancer, lymphoma, and leukemia, but shared that he is 18 months in remission now. “I’m doing great,” he said.
