Here’s a handy guide to the 25 biggest transfers to have been confirmed, currently topped by Morgan Rogers’ move from Aston Villa to Chelsea.

1. Morgan Rogers

Rogers is Chelsea’s new record signing and the most expensive English player in history after signing a seven-year deal.

Chelsea faced competition from other Premier League clubs for the attacking midfielder, but blew them out of the water with a massive bid.

It’s a major coup considering Chelsea failed to qualify for European football. Rogers would have been playing in the Champions League had he stayed with Villa.

But he has been drawn in by the stature of Chelsea, claiming they “are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid.”

2. Elliot Anderson

• Fee: £116m

Man City have broken their transfer record to sign Anderson in a strong sign of their faith in his abilities.

Having become the most expensive British player of all time – a status he held for only a few weeks until Rogers’ move – Anderson has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

The former Newcastle prospect is expected to be a big part of City’s midfield evolution, tipped by some as a potential Rodri successor in the long term.

Anderson’s move was agreed while on duty with England at the World Cup.

3. Sandro Tonali

Spurs set a new club transfer record for the second time in quick succession this July with the capture of Tonali from Newcastle.

On top of the initial £92.5m fee, Spurs could pay another £7.5m in add-ons to take the total cost of the deal up to £100m.

It marks the second largest fee for an outgoing Newcastle player ever after last summer’s record sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.

4. Mateus Fernandes

For the second summer in a row, Fernandes has jumped ship after suffering relegation, having established himself as one of the outliers in a struggling West Ham team.

Despite their relegation, West Ham have managed to bank an eye-watering fee for the one-cap Portugal international a year after buying him from Southampton.

After making the move across London, Fernandes said: “I’m very excited for this next step. Spurs is a massive club and the Head Coach [Roberto De Zerbi] was a key part of why I have decided to join.

“When we spoke, it was very special. We look at football in the same way – going onto the pitch as a strong team, with fight and energy, to try and win every game. I can’t wait to get started, to meet the fans, to meet everyone, and give everything for the Club.”

5. Anthony Gordon

• From: Newcastle United
• To: Barcelona

• Fee: £69.3m

Gordon’s dream move to Barcelona was confirmed in May, costing Barcelona €80m – the equivalent of £69.3m at the time.

After three-and-a-half years with Newcastle, during which he scored 39 goals, the forward has earned them a profit in the region of £25-30m.

Gordon, who has signed a contract until 2031 with Barcelona, said at his unveiling, where he spoke in Spanish: “As soon as I knew Barca was a serious option, there was never any question.

“I always wanted Barca. Barca is the biggest club on the planet.

“It’s the stuff I dreamed of as a child. It really is a dream come true to be here.

“I know it comes with a lot of responsibility, but I’m ready for this kind of challenge.”

6. Goncalo Ramos

• From: PSG
• To: AC Milan
• Position: Striker

• Fee: £63.8m

Ramos has become AC Milan’s record signing as he prepares to lead the line for his compatriot Ruben Amorim.

The former Benfica striker scored 45 goals over three years with PSG before his move for €74m plus add-ons.

7. Jeremy Jacquet

• From: Rennes
• To: Liverpool
• Position: Centre-back
• Age: 20
• Fee: £55m

Liverpool lined up the signing of Jacquet from Rennes pretty much as soon as the January transfer window closed, committing to a deal worth £55m up front.

A further £5m could follow in add-ons. Either way, Jacquet has become Rennes’ most expensive sale of all time.

The defender will be under contract with Liverpool until 2031, helping them rebuild in his position after the exit of Ibrahima Konate as a free agent.

8. Jan Paul van Hecke

Spurs succeeded with their third bid for Brighton defender Van Hecke, who reunites with Roberto De Zerbi as a result.

The Dutch defender has four years of Premier League experience under his belt and commanded a considerable fee despite nearing the last year of his Brighton contract.

9. Johan Manzambi

After becoming a breakout star with Switzerland at the World Cup, Manzambi became the subject of a Premier League transfer battle.

Cucurella has joined Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid revolution after four seasons with Chelsea, marking a return to his native Spain.

On top of the initial £47.5m fee, Chelsea could gain further sums in add-ons.

12. Nathaniel Brown

After two years with Eintracht Frankurt, Germany international Brown has made the step up to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

He has moved for a reported €55m, signing a contract until 2031.

13. Marco Palestra

• Fee: £47m

After being named the defender of the season in Serie A, Palestra has earned a move to the Premier League with Chelsea.

The full-back has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

14. Luka Vuskovic

• Fee: £46m

Vuskovic has become Brighton’s record signing on the back of an impressive season he spent on loan at Hamburg from Tottenham.

Spurs have sold the Croatian centre-back without ever using him in a competitive match, banking an initial £46m that could rise to £50m.

15. Bazoumana Toure

Newcastle have secured a new winger to help them move past Gordon’s time with the club.

Toure has emerged as a big prospect in the Bundesliga recently and Newcastle have noticed his potential, spending £43m to make him theirs.

16. Geovany Quenda

Chelsea were confident enough in Quenda’s potential to commit to a deal worth more than €50m when he was still only 17.

It was a deal they lined up for the future, which is finally going through this summer after Quenda’s 86 appearances for Sporting CP.

17. Ismael Saibari

While impressing at the World Cup with Morocco, Saibari’s move to Bayern Munich has gone through.

The attacking midfielder scored 42 goals for PSV after joining from Genk’s academy in 2020 and has earned his move for €50m.

18. Rasmus Hojlund

• To: Napoli

• Fee: £38.1m

After spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Napoli, Hojlund has made his move permanent for a fee that was agreed in advance.

A clause agreed between Man Utd and Napoli meant he would automatically remain in Italy if his side qualified for the Champions League.

19. Lois Openda

Openda’s loan spell at Juventus from RB Leipzig was not successful – just one Serie A goal from 24 games – but they were obliged to buy him because they finished in the top half.

Juventus could consider offers for Openda this summer but would be unlikely to make their money back.

20. Youri Tielemans

£35m was the value of a release clause in Tielemans’ contract, which United have activated to add some proven Premier League quality to their midfield.

United have given the Belgian a five-year deal.

Liverpool hijacked Newcastle’s attempts to bring Munoz from La Liga to the Premier League, trumping them with a £34.5m bid.

Munoz has signed a six-year contract to become a Liverpool player.

22. Piero Hincapie

Hincapie has made his move to Arsenal permanent after spending last season on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.

He played 39 times during his loan spell, becoming a Premier League champion at the first time of asking.

23. Tarik Muharemovic

Leeds have made Muharemovic their second most expensive signing of all time after buying him from Serie A side Sassuolo for just over £34m.

24. Joao Gomes

Villa have replaced Tielemans by signing Gomes from Wolves, capitalising on their Midlands rivals’ relegation from the Premier League. The fee could rise to £38m with add-ons.

25. Morten Hjulmand

• Age: 27
• Fee: £34m

After three years in Portugal with Sporting, Hjulmand has signed for Atletico Madrid in a €40m deal.

The five-year contract he has signed, putting an end to Premier League links, should see him through for the prime years of his career.
