The countdown to the start of the 2026 college football campaign is on, and several members of the Syracuse Orange are already on the radar to potentially take their game to the pros.
Eight Syracuse players were named to the 2027 Shriners Children’s East-West Bowl watch list, the bowl announced Monday. It’s considered the oldest college football all-star game in the U.S. The East-West Bowl scout team evaluates players at all four levels in the sport (FBS, FCS, Division II, and Division III). It then makes a list of who, so far, is on the path to take their game to the next level.
Of the eight ‘Cuse players getting the invite, it’s an even split: four players on offense and four on defense. Here is the full list:
- CB Chris Peal
- EDGE Tunmise Adeleye
- EDGE Keyshawn Johnson
- LB Chris D’Appolonia
- OG Joe Cruz
- OT Trevion Mack
- QB Steve Angeli
- TE Noah Meyers
These Syracuse players are among the 1,000 names selected as the top East-West Bowl eligible players. For the 2026 bowl, punter Jack Stonehouse was the only Syracuse player to go.
Of the group above, there are a few names that fans will definitely be keeping an eye on. Chris Peal headlines the group, as he’s already appearing at the end of the first round in way-too-early mock drafts. Quarterback remains the top prize in any draft, and if Steve Angeli can repeat his brief but spectacular play from 2025 across the entire 2026 campaign, he could very well be in the conversation to hear his name called at some point in ‘27.
A few other names TNIAAM previously flagged as possible 2027 draft candidates included Keyshawn Johnson and Joe Cruz.
The 102nd Shriners Children’s East-West Bowl will happen on February 4 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
