The Mag 7 Stocks Are in a Rut—Can Strong Earnings Get Them Out of It?
The Magnificent Seven stocks may be more “Lag 7” than “Mag 7” this year, but their profits are still pretty magnificent.
The Mag 7—Nvidia (NVDA), Alphabet (GOOG), Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), Meta (META), and Tesla (TSLA)—have grown faster than the rest of the S&P 500—or the “Other 493”—in every quarter since the end of 2022, and estimates suggest that was likely the case last quarter, too. In the coming weeks, the Mag 7 are expected to report earnings grew about 31% in the second quarter, a slowdown from 63% in Q1 but still ahead of the Other 493’s 23% growth.
Tesla and Google-parent Alphabet will be the first of the group to post Q2 results when they report after the bell Wednesday. Analysts expect the search and cloud computing giant had another strong quarter, with revenue projected to increase about 20%, driven by a 65% increase in cloud revenue. The report will set expectations for cloud computing competitors and fellow Mag 7 members Microsoft and Amazon, both of which are slated to report next week.
Mag 7 stocks accounted for the vast majority of the S&P 500’s rise in recent years, but the group has lagged the broader market in 2026 amid uncertainty about the return on their huge AI investments. The Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (MAGS) is up less than 2% since the start of the year, trailing the S&P 500’s nearly 10% return.

Mark Cuban Has a Plan to Create More Millionaires and Narrow the Wealth Gap—Stock For All Employees
What can the U.S. do to narrow the chasm between the very rich and the very poor? One billionaire thinks he has the answer.
The solution, per Mark Cuban, Shark Tank investor and minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, is more people owning “appreciable assets,” he said in a recent episode of the podcast “What it Takes” from Unmoderated News. Cuban’s point is that people who own stocks see their net worths rise when share prices do.
The billionaire—Forbes estimates Cuban’s net worth at $6 billion as of today—said: “The way you’re going to reduce income inequality for anybody who works with somebody is making sure they get shares of stock.” And he wants to see more companies offering their employees stock-based compensation plans.
Cuban said he has offered equity to employees at every company he ever sold, and referred to a New York Times report that SpaceX’s (SPCX) record IPO could make some 4,400 employees millionaires. SpaceX’s employee compensation program also inspired viral memes last month that imagine cafeteria workers and janitors as millionaires, and billionaires.

Hasbro Stock Jumps as ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Leads Strong Results
Hasbro chief executive Chris Cocks said the gaming giant’s “Magic: The Gathering” franchise “is firing on all cylinders.” Shareholders evidently agree.
Following a strong second-quarter performance from “Magic: The Gathering,” Hasbro (HAS) lifted various full-year projections Tuesday and shares surged 7.5%.
The Pawtucket, R.I.-based company now sees 2026 revenue up 5% to 7% in constant currency, from up 3% to 5%; adjusted operating margin of 25% to 26%, raised from 24% to 25%; and adjusted EBITDA of $1.45 billion to $1.50 billion, up from $1.40 billion to $1.45 billion.
In the second quarter, Hasbro reported adjusted earnings of $1.28 per share on revenue that rose 16% year-over-year to $1.14 billion. Analysts polled by Visible Alpha had expected $1.14 per share and $1.07 billion, respectively. “Magic: The Gathering” generated $545.3 million in revenue, up 32% from a year ago.
“‘Magic: The Gathering’ eclipsed $500 million in quarterly revenue for the first time in its 30-plus year history, led by the record-breaking debut of ‘Marvel Super Heroes,’” Cocks said. “With strong indications for our remaining releases and line of sight to continued growth in 2027, the ‘Magic’ flywheel is firing on all cylinders.”
With today’s gains, shares of Hasbro moved into positive territory for 2026.

Nvidia Reveals a Big Stake in This AI Cloud Company, Sending Its Stock Soaring
A vote of confidence from the chipmaker at the heart of the AI boom has Nebius shares soaring Tuesday.
Shares of Nebius (NBIS) were up 15% to around $209 in recent trading, a day after Nvidia (NVDA) disclosed in a regulatory filing that it’s built a 9.3% stake in the Amsterdam-based AI infrastructure provider. Shares of Nvidia were up about 1%, on a day when semiconductor and other AI-related stocks led the major indexes higher. Coreweave (CRWV), a Nebius rival also backed by Nvidia, saw its stock jump more than 7%.
Nvidia and Nebius did not respond to Investopedia’s requests for comment in time for publication.
Nvidia, which first disclosed a small stake in Nebius early last year, said back in March that it would invest $2 billion in the company. At the time, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the two companies were deepening their partnership “scaling the cloud to meet the surging global demand for intelligence.”

Danaher Shares Sink on Cautious Revenue Projections
Danaher shares entered the day down 17% in 2026. Their year-to-date performance did not improve as the bell rang.
Danaher (DHR) stock sank 15% as markets opened after the life sciences and diagnostics firm issued cautious revenue guidance early Tuesday.
The Washington-based company said it expects core, or adjused, revenue will increase 2% to 3% year-over-year in the third quarter and 3% to 4% over the full year. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha were looking for increases of 5.4% and 4.4%, respectively.
“Continued end-market recovery and traction from our recent growth initiatives support our expectation to exit 2026 at a mid-single-digit core revenue growth rate,” CEO Rainer Blair said. “Longer term, Danaher’s leading portfolio, capital deployment optionality and talented team—all powered by the Danaher Business System—position us to accelerate the impact of science and technology, help customers move from discovery to delivery faster, and create sustainable long-term shareholder value.”
For investors, the weaker-than-expected guidance outweighed second-quarter results that topped estimates. Danaher reported adjusted earnings of $1.94 per share on revenue that increased 5.5% to $6.3 billion, while analysts anticipated $1.84 per share and $6.1 billion, respectively.

3M Stock Surges on Strong Q2 Results, Lifted Profit Outlook
3M stock appears poised to move into positive territory for 2026 when the bell rings.
Dow component 3M (MMM) rose 6% after the conglomerate reported better-than-expected results and raised its profit outlook.
Before the bell Tuesday, 3M posted second-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.40 per share on net sales that rose 2.4% year-over-year to $6.5 billion. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha had expected $2.25 per share and $6.31 billion, respectively.
The St. Paul, Minn.-based company—which also registered organic sales growth of 5.4% and adjusted operating margin of 24.9%, both above consensus forecasts—lifted its full-year adjusted EPS projection to $8.80 to $8.95 from the prior range of $8.50 to $8.70.
“We delivered a strong second quarter, exceeding expectations with mid-single-digit sales growth, robust operating margins of about 25%, and double-digit EPS growth, reflecting the progress we’re making on our strategic priorities and building a higher-performing company,” 3M CEO William Brown said. “As a result of our strong first-half performance and continued momentum, we are increasing our full-year guidance and remain confident in our ability to create long-term value for shareholders.”
Shares of the Scotch Tape and Post-it Notes maker entered the day down less than 1% since the start of the year.

Intel Reports Earnings Thursday. Here’s How Much Its Stock Is Seen Moving
Intel is slated to report earnings after the closing bell Thursday, with traders anticipating a sizable move from the chipmaker’s stock following the results.1
Based on recent options pricing, traders expect Intel (INTC) shares could swing up to 12% in either direction by the end of the week. A move of that size from Monday’s close could see the shares rebound close to $109, where they were earlier this month, or drag them below $86.
Intel shares have soared more than 160% since the start of the year amid speculation about new deals after a flurry of high-profile agreements and better-than-expected results, though they’ve slipped over 30% from last month’s highs after a broader pullback in the AI trade in recent weeks.
UBS analysts recently lifted their price target for Intel to $121 from $83, telling clients they see strong demand for Intel’s data center hardware potentially supporting higher prices. The analysts said they expect investors to be watching for updates from Intel on its manufacturing capabilities, as well as potential new customers for Intel’s foundry business.

SpaceX Stock Closed Yesterday at Fresh Low After Seven Straight Days of Losses
SpaceX is experiencing significant turbulence.
Shares of SpaceX (SPCX) fell more than 3% Monday to close at a fresh low of just below $120, extending their decline to a seventh consecutive session. The stock is down 47% from its record high above $225 set a few days after the company’s record-breaking IPO in mid-June. (Shares pointed up 1.5% premarket Tuesday.)
The latest losses followed a series of setbacks for the company, which this morning scrubbed a Falcon 9 launch that was scheduled to take 24 satellites into orbit from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. SpaceX also aborted a Starship flight test last Thursday.
The space exploration, satellite connectivity and AI company still ranks among the biggest companies in the U.S., with a market capitalization of nearly $1.6 trillion. But the weak performance of the stock recently is reportedly giving other AI IPO-hopefuls cold feet, which would make sense given the chilly reception of more recent offerings.
