The Kentucky Wildcats have already begun to contact and even offer several players in the 2028 recruiting class, including some of the highest ranked. One player they have contacted isn't currently a top 100 player, but he might have the biggest name of all of them: Chris Paul II.
Paul is a 6'0", 160 lb point guard out of California, and yes, he's the son of THAT Chris Paul, the 12x NBA All-Star and surefire Hall of Famer. The younger Paul is currently rated three stars by 247Sports and ranks as their No. 114 overall player in the class.
Though Paul isn't at the top of player rankings yet, he is a rising player, who could take a much bigger leap. Recently, at this year's Peach Jam, he averaged 8.9 points per game and shot 46% from three-point range in front of Wildcats assistant coach Mo Williams, who played with his dad in the NBA.
Paul told Kentucky Sports Radio that the Wildcats had been in contact since the contact period opened in June, and spoke of the program glowingly, referring to Kentucky as "Guard U".
No decision from Paul will be forthcoming soon. Interest from top programs is beginning to ramp up, and as he rises in the rankings, the offers will pour in. We will update his recruitment as it develops.
