The Trump administration plans to announce on Wednesday an agreement with Saudi Arabia, which may permit the Islamic kingdom to enrich uranium for its nuclear reactors.
The deal is intended to further positive relations between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia as the latter's relationship with Iran deteriorates in the wake of the war, the New York Times reported, citing unnamed sources.
The Trump administration expects the agreement will provide billions for the U.S. nuclear industry, especially Westinghouse, which designs many of the reactors sold abroad.
The agreement will require congressional review, which has the authority to pass a resolution of disapproval under the Atomic Energy Act.
