Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) on Monday outlined five policy priorities House Democrats would pursue if they regain control of the House of Representatives, including Medicare for All, a $25-an-hour living wage by 2032, stronger union protections, $10-a-day childcare and ending U.S. aid to Israel, according to a video posted on X.

Economic Agenda Builds on Earlier Message

The latest proposals expand on Khanna’s recent push to reshape the Democratic Party’s economic platform. Last month, he argued Democrats could win back Trump-supporting Teamsters by embracing a “bold, aspirational platform of economic patriotism” focused on good-paying jobs, lower costs, domestic manufacturing and national unity.

Several of Khanna’s proposals also align with priorities long championed by progressive Democrats, including expanding universal healthcare, raising wages and making child care more affordable. Last month, a report by the Joint Economic Committee Minority estimated the nation’s child care crisis could cost the U.S. economy as much as $329 billion over the next decade, citing its impact on workforce participation and business productivity.

Several of the proposals also mirror priorities long championed by progressive Democrats. Earlier this year, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) promoted a policy agenda that included expanding Medicare benefits and raising teacher pay alongside broader economic reforms funded through higher taxes on billionaires.

Israel Aid Proposal Follows West Bank Trip

Khanna’s call to end U.S. aid to Israel follows his recent trip to the West Bank, where he alleged Israeli settlers carrying U.S.-made rifles detained him and other Americans and that Israeli forces continued the detention after arriving. The Israel Defense Forces disputed that account, saying troops dispersed civilians blocking the delegation’s route and allowed the delegation to proceed, according to a statement provided to the BBC.

The proposal also comes as debate over U.S. support for Israel has broadened beyond traditional party lines. Earlier this month, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) said Rep. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) privately told him the U.S. should stop providing aid to Israel, though McConnell has not publicly confirmed Massie’s account.

The California lawmaker has also raised his national profile in recent weeks after saying he was “strongly considering” a 2028 presidential campaign following the trip.

Maine Dems’ Graham Platner replacement Troy Jackson has vicious angry past — including infamous 'water-bottle incident'

Maher slams Dems as 'cowardly' extremists in ABC interview: 'When we're cheering for the intifada, God, I'm out'

Hey, you know when it's time to maybe leave your party? When Bill Maher is radioactive but "globalize the intifada" isn't. Maher seems to have discovered this problem of late. In an interview with ABC News' "This Week" on Sunday, he noted that Democrats were too "cowardly" to come on his HBO show and that if he criticizes Republicans -- especially President Donald Trump -- at least they're willing to take their "beating like a man" on air. The...
