After LeBron James went viral for saying "trust the process," his agent Rich Paul delivered some tough news to Philadelphia 76ers fans.

Although the LeBron James free agency saga has continued to roll forward, with Rich Paul and company giving very little away, there's apparently something that's a negative for Philadelphia 76ers fans. At least, according to Paul, who addressed James' "trusting the process" comment at Fanatics Fest, a three-word phrase that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

With the likes of the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, and 76ers strongly landing as the top-four most likely destinations for James, it's Philly that holds the lowest chances of all four teams on the prediction market, Kalshi. At the time of writing this, the 76ers hold an 8% chance to sign the future Hall-of-Famer, a far cry from the 50% chance that the Miami Heat boasts.

And while many were hoping that James using the phrase "trusting the process" was a hint at a potential signing with the 76ers, Rich Paul shot that down on the Game Over podcast with Max Kellerman and Paul. According to Paul, the idea of "trusting the process" is a bad thing.

"That’s a negative thing. That’s not a positive thing. Trust the process wasn’t a positive thing for an organization, that’s the worst thing you could do," Paul said. "…trust the process was a negative thing ... it was the worst thing you could do for an organization ...Where’s the value in that?"

Paul stated that "you don't have the information" regarding James' use of the phrase or the viewpoint behind it. Paul's comments are certainly noteworthy, although it doesn't necessarily suggest that the 76ers are out of the race for LeBron James in free agency, by any means. And for good measure, there's little doubt that the Sixers are no longer in a "trust the process" phase, especially following their offseason acquisition of Jaylen Brown.

Regardless, whatever hype there was around James' use of "trusting the process," it's safe to assume we shouldn't read too much into it.
