Prince George will be following in the footsteps of his royal father, Prince William, as he enrols at Eton College after the summer holidays, Eton is a prestigious all-boys school which has graduates such as politicians Boris Johnson and David Cameron and actors Eddie Redmayne and Damian Lewis. Despite the school costing a whopping £65,000 per year for attendees, they are still seeking charitable donations for renovations.
The sports facilities are in the process of being refurbished, and there will be a brand-new golf simulator and rifle range. Shooting is a key part of royal history, and it will be something that George has practiced himself at Balmoral in the past.
Part of the renovations have already taken place, and there is now an impressive swim facility. The Eton Sports & Aquatics Centre, named Athens, was completed in 2023.
The college is still asking parents and friends of the college to make donations to help with this project. There's a button on the website which allows people to make a one-off payment or set up a regular gift. An online brochure for the plans explains that should someone wish to donate more than £5,000, they should do so via bank transfer and the college has left their details for members of the public to easily pay.
The website explains: "Recognising the importance of sport to an Eton education, the College is undertaking the largest-ever refurbishment and expansion of its sports facilities. Together with the recently opened aquatics facility, 'Athens', the Indoor Sports Complex will allow generations of Eton boys to benefit from and be inspired by a state-of-the-art teaching and training environment."
George's quiet confidence
Impressive sports facilities are something that Prince George will no doubt adore, considering he's a keen sportsman, taking an interest in rugby, tennis and triathlons according to reports.
George has been modest about his sporting ability, but his three-word response to a tennis pro showed his quiet confidence.
During a discussion with Wimbledon doubles champions Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool in 2025, Cash asked the Prince if he was any good at tennis, to which George replied: "I'm all right."
George's father, William, was also a keen athlete, partaking in football, rugby, water polo, swimming, and rowing during his Eton days.
Academic success
Away from the sports pitches, George will be studying hard. According to Eton's website, the young royal will have an incredible 28 subjects to get stuck into, gearing up the children for academic success. These include things like Latin, Greek, Theology, Theatre Studies, Economics, Government and Politics, Music Technology and Computer Science.
