Happy birthday, Prince George! It seems like only yesterday Prince William and Kate Middleton were announcing the birth of their firstborn son, but now he is officially a teenager at 13 years old - and he looks more like his dad than ever before in a formal birthday portrait.
"Happy 13th Birthday, George! 🎉" the official Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account captioned a photo of the young royal on July 22. He looks dapper with a black suit jacket over a white button-down shirt and matching black pants. As he poses with his hands in his pockets, his dark blond hair gelled to one side, and a slight smile, he is William's double!
This is a marked difference from last year's birthday portrait of George, who looked much more casual in a checkered button-down shirt under an olive-green vest as he posed next to a fence outside. He even wore a casual roped bracelet on one wrist. This year, his picture signifies how much he is growing up, as a teenager about to attend Eton College this fall.
He is still just as adventurous as ever, however. The Waleses also uploaded a video of Prince George on his 13th birthday, showing him hanging out at the beach with his siblings, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. He hangs out in the sand with the family's cocker spaniels, Orla and Otto, climbs huge boulders next to the water barefoot, and plays cricket on the beach.

"Thank you for all the birthday wishes for George today!🎂" the video was captioned. One person commented, "George is in his cool era! Hope he has a wonderful birthday 💙" Another wrote, "Lovely video. Prince George looking so handsome and grown ❤️🥰🥰"
Royal author Simon Vigar speculated that George becoming a teenager is "a huge moment" for Kate and William in a July 20 interview with Hello! George's boarding school is in Berkshire, "which is just around the corner from where [William and Kate] live, so they're going to be pretty nearby," Vigar went on. "But it's a big summer ahead for them."
From the video George's parents shared, it's clear he's already enjoying this summer break immensely!
