Flowing midi dresses and playful prints epitomise Pippa Middleton's wardrobe in 2026, as she strikes the perfect balance between the glamorous sister of the Princess of Wales and the down-to-earth mother-of-three who values her private life.
But long before she had to consider the implications of every sartorial move, Pippa was more free with her fashion choices. Just months before her sister's royal wedding with the Prince of Wales in 2011, she showed off her wedding guest wardrobe at Katie Percy and Patrick Valentine's nuptials.
As Pippa arrived at St Michael's Church in Alnwick, Northumberland, a hot pink lace mini dress was just visible underneath her military-style black jacket, which featured a cinched waist and a ruffled mini skirt that fell above her knee – a shorter hemline than she'd wear today.
With her long brunette hair styled into loose waves that cascaded behind her in the wind, Pippa completed her look with a fuchsia fascinator and black heels.
Royal style rules
Female royals are encouraged not to show their bare legs, regardless of the weather. While she is not governed by the same style rules as her sister Kate, Pippa already appeared to adopt one of the royal family's guidelines with her sheer tights, as she kept the cool February weather at bay.
However, there have been occasions when royals have swerved these rules. The Duchess of Sussex's white coat and bare legs at her engagement announcement with Prince Harry in November 2017.
Pippa's relaxed style
One of Pippa's latest outings was at Wimbledon 2026 with her mother Carole. Pictured at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Pippa served up a dose of supreme courtside glamour in her Reformation white and red printed dress.
While she oozed elegance, completing her outfit with a J.Crew raffia clutch bag, personal stylist Susie Hasler said that it isn't a style we'd expect to see her sister, the Princess of Wales, wear.
"Kate and Pippa have very different roles," she told HELLO!, adding: "Print isn't a one-off choice for Pippa at Wimbledon; it's become her go-to look over the years. In fact, florals and playful patterns have really become part of her branding - it's almost as recognisable as Kate's solid-colour approach."
Kate's sister can afford to be more "relaxed" compared to "modest" Kate, she added. "Pippa tends to wear accessible, contemporary labels like Reformation, with a boater hat and sunglasses - it's a look that's polished but relaxed, because she's a guest rather than a working royal. For official engagements, Kate tends to lean into a modest, conservative aesthetic - because the goal is to not let the outfit overshadow the occasion," she said.
