A gut health brand has gone viral for wanting to help people "let loose" during their bathroom visits.

Gut health brand Let Loose announced the launch of its Sh-t Shoes on July 8, and the promotional material was immediately met with praise. The "pair of shoes" is a toilet stool (think Squatty Potty) designed to improve posture during bowel movements. The 7-inch tall stool looks like two 1970s disco pumps.

"Every generation is defined by its innovations: The wheel, the lightbulb, the internet, humanity reached the moon. Yet somehow, we abandoned the squat," the promotional video for the "shoes" announces. "For over a century, we've been solving the wrong problems. Until now. Years of development, countless prototypes, priceless engineering to elevate your knees 7 inches for optimal colon alignment."

Perhaps it's their absurdity or timing amid the nationwide outbreak of cyclosporiasis, an intestinal illness that causes explosive diarrhea; nonetheless, Sh-t Shoes have been a hit online since their drop, with one size selling out within the first week of launch, according to the Let Loose website.

"Making squatting sexy again," one Instagram user commented on Let Loose's post promoting the "shoes." Another user wrote: "Omg. Finally a solution to not having those ugly stools in the bathroom!! Thank you for thinking this through!"

Founded by Alexandra Houx Grounds, Let Loose is a gut health brand that offers dietary supplements, a constipation drink mix, flushable toilet wipes, koji digestive enzymes (a Japanese fermented grain that serves as a natural digestive aid) and pre-, pro- and postbiotics.
