Palworld: How to get the Mimog effigy

Effigies have been in Palworld for a while, but with the arrival of the 1.0 update, a bunch more have been added, allowing us to further improve our player character!

One of the more interesting effigies added was the Mimog Effigy, which isn’t found in the traditional sense. Most effigies sit on small plinths throughout the game worlds, requiring you to interact with them. However, the Mimog Effigy takes a slightly different approach: it's far more interactive and, overall, much more interesting!

So, how can we stockpile these effigies, and what kinds of bonuses can we expect to receive? Let’s get into it!

Obtaining Mimog Effigies

You’ll know Mimog as the devious little Pal that sits completely still, looking like a basic chest, until you fight or try to capture it. From there, it’ll scamper away at lightning speed if you fail.

Luckily, the effigies have little to do with the Pal itself, relying on capture rather than defeat. I’m sure, as many of you know, you get a good amount of XP from the first 5 captures of a Pal. Once these 5 captures have been completed, you’ll obtain a little golden sphere beside the Pal's name, as well as a Mimog Effigy.

With this in mind, one of the best ways to level up while obtaining a bunch of effigies is to return to earlier stages of the game when you have better-upgraded Pal Spheres, and then capture every low-level Pal in sight until you get 5 of everything.

These captures will be easy with your gear, especially if you have something like the Ring of Mercy, which always leaves Pals at 1 HP.

Spending Effigy Points

If you haven’t discovered how to spend these points, or didn’t even realise you could, Effigies grant players small bonuses to their stats, whether that's increasing Capture Power, Swimming Ability, or even Sphere Tracking.

You can upgrade these properties at a Statue of Power, which can be found in many of the rundown churches scattered across the map.

However, you can choose to skip the church part entirely, and instead simply build your own statue back at the base if you wish, with the following materials:

• 20x Stone
• 10x Paldium Fragment

Once you have the Statue of Power, scroll down, and you’ll find the Movement Speed option right at the bottom. This will, as you can imagine, improve your character's base movement speed.

While the movement speed bonus won't beat travelling on a speedy flying Pal, it’s certainly nice to have a passive bonus that builds up over time simply by doing something that functions as part of the main gameplay loop! Happy hunting folks!
