Over 100 weapons and drugs seized in police raids

Machetes, samurai swords and knuckle dusters are seized in police raids in Preston.

More than 100 weapons, including machetes, samurai swords and knuckle dusters, have been seized in police raids.

Addresses in Pope Lane, Burholme Close, Mitton Drive and Sheardley Avenue, all in Preston, Lancashire, were searched by police officers who also found cannabis, drug paraphernalia and about £10,000 in cash.

A 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, while a 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

All three, from Preston, are in custody waiting to be questioned, Lancashire Police said.
