Julian Croonenberghs, a private equity associate and former U.S. field hockey player, was recently identified as the individual seen with Olivia Rodrigo. Online sources linked him to Rodrigo following a widely shared video and a previous appearance together in Brooklyn.
Unlike Rodrigo’s previous partner, actor Louis Partridge, Croonenberghs has a background in finance and academics. He graduated from Brown University, works in private equity, and is reportedly from a prominent banking family. He played for the U.S. men’s national field hockey team from 2018 to 2020.
Interest in Croonenberghs grew after footage from a New York sidewalk in June circulated on social media. In the video, Rodrigo appeared engaged and happy while speaking with the tall, dark-haired man. This followed a previous sighting in Brooklyn, where Rodrigo was seen with a man believed to be the same individual.
As fans learned more about Croonenberghs, they also looked into his background, career and even his reported New York residence, described as a three-bedroom, three-bath apartment valued at $3.7 million (per Daily Mail).
Rodrigo has not addressed the rumors publicly, but she recently made comments that fans interpret as reflecting her current perspective on dating. In an interview with Anthony Fantano last month, she said, “There’s something nice about a normal boy.”
Croonenberghs, meanwhile, has remained largely out of the public eye.
Since the release of “drivers license” in 2021, Rodrigo’s relationships have attracted significant public attention. The song prompted speculation about her relationship with Joshua Bassett and rumors of a love triangle involving Sabrina Carpenter. She was later linked to producer Adam Faze in 2021 and DJ Zack Bia in 2022.
Rodrigo and her last partner, Partridge, were first connected in October 2023 after being spotted together in London. Their romance later became increasingly public through appearances at concerts, red carpets and Wimbledon.
Rumors about the two splitting surfaced in December 2025, though Rodrigo never publicly commented on them.
