On the 23rd, Nexon (co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) implemented its second summer update for the popular online game 'MapleStory,' which includes new skill cores.
This update introduces a third 6th-job skill core for every class, including the new class 'Lete.' Characters who have completed their 6th-job advancement can activate and enhance these cores by consuming a set amount of 'Sol Erda' and 'Sol Erda Fragments.' Each class receives a unique skill core tailored to its specific combat style, further highlighting the distinct characteristics of every job.
In addition, the summer event 'Mission Ultima' has been expanded with diverse new content. First, the auto-battle minigame 'Ultima Squad' will be available until August 19. Players can train and deploy mercenaries to clear 30 combat stages; the game continues to accumulate EXP and resources through auto-battles even while the player is logged out. Strategically configuring mercenary skills and equipment allows for faster stage completion, and players can challenge the higher-difficulty 'Chaos Mode' after clearing the normal mode. Event coins earned through combat and stage completion can be exchanged for various items, including 'Sol Erda,' 'Sol Erda Fragments,' and 'High-Grade EXP Coupons.'
During the same period, the 'Merchant Union's Supply Support' event offers richer rewards, providing large amounts of EXP and additional 'Sol Erda Energy' for the elimination of level range monsters. The summer event 'Aetherion Artifact' system has also been revamped, with increased level-based benefits, an expanded maximum core level, and the addition of new core enhancement missions. Furthermore, the 'Hazel's Request' event will run until September 16, allowing players to earn a 'Hazeloid' by participating with a new 'Lete' character, and a 'Momentum Pass' has been added for characters level 280 and above.
Various quality-of-life improvements have also been implemented. 'Coloring Prism Pro' and 'Weapon Effect Prism' are now available for permanent purchase, and items customized with these prisms can now be re-dyed without limit. Additionally, the maximum damage cap has been increased from 700 billion to 10 trillion, and combat experiences have been improved by ensuring certain map obstacles do not appear while boss monsters are under crowd-control effects.
Meanwhile, a premium internet cafe login event will run from July 24 to August 20. Rewards such as 'Mileage' and 'Sol Erda Fragments' will be provided based on daily cumulative login time, with additional items like up to 6k 'High-Grade EXP Coupons' available based on total cumulative login time. A 'Premium Gift Shop' will also be operated, where players can exchange 'Premium Coins'—earned by eliminating level range monsters—for various goods. A 50% bonus EXP buff will also be applied while playing at premium internet cafes.
Additionally, to celebrate the release of the new character 'Ren' in the mobile game 'MapleStory M,' Nexon will host a 'Ren' leveling event from July 30 to August 26. Players who create a 'Ren' character in 'MapleStory M' and reach specified levels will receive various rewards, such as a 'Night Sky Plum Blossom Chair Coupon' and a 'Black Plum Painting Damage Skin (Unit),' for their linked 'MapleStory' account on their Nexon ID.
