Motorola is clearly serious about tablets in India. Just after launching the Moto Pad 70 series, the company is now ready to introduce the Moto Pad 70 Groove, a model that puts audio front and center for a more immersive experience.

The tablet is officially launching in India on July 31, and a dedicated Flipkart microsite has already given us a good look at what’s coming. The design stands out with a cool circular mesh grille on the back featuring the JBL logo, plus a built-in fold-out stand that’s surprisingly versatile. It supports portrait, landscape, lean, stand, hanging, and even theatre modes. Motorola has teased it in a nice green color, and the volume buttons are conveniently placed on the rear.

What makes the Groove special is its sound system. Motorola is calling it India’s first nine-speaker JBL setup: four tweeters, three woofers, and two passive radiators. It’s backed by a big 43cc acoustic chamber, dedicated bass units, Dolby Atmos tuning, and Hi-Res Audio support (including wireless). The whole thing pumps out up to 48W in a 7.2-channel setup. If the claims hold up, this could be one of the best-sounding tablets around for movies, music, and gaming, with no extra speakers needed.

On the display side, you’re getting a big 12.1-inch 2.5K panel with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and can hit up to 800 nits in High Brightness Mode. That should make it great for streaming and everyday use. Power comes from a hefty 10,200mAh battery that Motorola says can deliver up to 15 hours of video playback, along with a 68W charger in the box for fast charging.

The Groove fits into the broader Pad 70 family, which has been focusing on large, high-refresh-rate screens and decent performance in the Indian market. The heavy focus on JBL-tuned audio makes this one feel like a strong pick for entertainment lovers.

Motorola seems to be carving out its own space in India by mixing practical design with features that actually matter to everyday users.
