Mikkel Haarup broke his nose in a Moto 1 crash in the Spring Creek National and retired from that race to seek medical attention. He lined up for the second moto, but a mechanical issue forced him to the pits a second time.
With moto scores of 40-40, Haarup ended a six-round streak of top-15 overall finishes that included a pair of seventh-place results at High Point and RedBud.
Significantly, Haarup is only one point outside of the top 20 in combined SuperMotocross League points, behind Shane McElrath.
McElrath is not competing in Pro Motocross; Haarup did not compete in the Supercross portion of the season.
Haarup entered Spring Creek eighth in the Motocross championship standings, but lost a position to Cooper Webb.
