Husband and wife Ian and Alison Merrien will lead out Guernsey at the 2026 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
The pair both made their debuts at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, with Alison going on to win a number of World Indoor titles.
The pair have returned to the Commonwealth Games this year, having last represented Guernsey in 2010.
This will be their fifth games, having also competed in 1998, 2002 and 2006 - the latter year of which Alison reached the quarter-finals of the women's singles.
This year, Ian will partner Jason Greenslade in the men's pairs while Alison will compete in both the women's singles and pairs events.
"It's going to be a fantastic atmosphere and I'm looking forward to it," Alison, who will carry Guernsey's flag, said.
"I'll be proud to take the flag out for the team."
She added: "For a little island like Guernsey we do quite well in sport in general and for two bowlers to be leading the team out is absolutely fantastic.
"Hopefully the team will do well in the rest of the sports that we're here for."
Ian will carry Guernsey's Commonwealth Games baton as both islanders aim to emulate or better Lucy Beere - who won a silver medal in the women's singles four years ago.
"It's a great honour to be recognised by all the sports, it's not just any particular one that puts you forward," he said.
"It's not just bowls, but 'Team Merrien' I suppose," he added.
"It could be any two people, you're just as proud to do it, but we've always supported each other, so even before I found out I was baton bearer and Ali flag bearer, I was happy for that."
