According to a new column on his Substack, HOWL, author Michael Wolff wrote that the White House staffers are terrified of Melania Trump for her unpredictability.
This comes after the former model addressed the controversies surrounding Jeffrey Epstein during a White House speech that left Donald Trump and other officials baffled.
Meanwhile, following Wolff’s comments, Jimmy Kimmel Live guest host Colman Domingo referenced the report on Tuesday and mocked the first lady for allegedly scaring officials.
Using sarcasm, Domingo joked about Melania Trump’s “unpredictable” fashion choices, and earned laughs and applause from the audience.
Colman Domingo Mocks White House’s Fear of Melania Trump
In his Substack article, Michael Wolff wrote, “Everybody in the White House is afraid of Melania Trump and her power—that is, if she chooses to use it.”
Wolff continued, “They largely think she won’t, or at least won’t use it so obviously enough to directly threaten the palace, but they can’t be sure.”
He further alleged that “Trump and his wife barely speak” and added, “There is hardly even the pretense that she lives in the White House.”
Following Wolff’s viral op-ed, actor Colman Domingo discussed it while guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday.
Domingo said, “According to the writer Michael Wolff, White House staffers are terrified of Melania’s unpredictability. And they’re right.”
He joked, “Melania is very unpredictable. I mean, will she wear black? Beige? A crazy hat? Or an even crazier hat? The possibilities are endless!”
The actor continued, “Apparently, the White House is worried because Melania has a tendency to go rogue and they have no idea what she’ll do next.”
During the show, the guest host then proceeded to make a direct appeal to the first lady, saying, “Well, Melania, if you’re watching, I don’t know what crazy sh-t you’re cooking up.”
“But I think I speak for all of us when I say: Live your truth. Do it, girl. The last time anyone encountered a wealthy, ageless European who was that cold and emotionless, it was Dracula,” Domingo mocked.
Michael Wolff’s Ongoing Feud With the First Lady and the White House
Meanwhile, although Colman Domingo addressed Michael Wolff’s Substack piece with a lighthearted tone, the White House and Melania Trump have often been critical of his remarks.
After the new column on his Substack, HOWL, went viral, White House spokesman Davis Ingle addressed the post and told the Daily Beast, “Michael Wolff is a lying piece of s–t.”
However, Wolff has clashed with the White House before. In 2025, after he released All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America, he was again slammed as a “lying sack of s–t.”
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said Wolff had a “peanut-sized brain.” In addition, the author also faced threats of a $1 billion lawsuit from Melania Trump.
According to NBC News, she threatened to take legal action against Wolff to stop him from reporting about her and Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged ties.
However, instead of backing down, the author said the first lady’s legal “threats are also intended to shut down legitimate inquiry into the Epstein matter.”
Wolff added, “I’d like nothing better than to get Donald Trump and Melania Trump under oath in front of a court reporter and actually find out all of the details of their relationship with Epstein.”
