Wigan Athletic winger Callum McManaman signs a new deal to remain with the League One club in a player-mentor role.

Wigan Athletic winger Callum McManaman has signed a new deal to remain with the League One club in a player-mentor role.

The 35-year-old is in his third spell having rejoined in 2023 and will combine his two roles from this upcoming season.

McManaman, who helped Wigan win the FA Cup in 2013, has made a total of 229 appearances for the Latics.

"Wigan Athletic has been a huge part of my life for a long time, so to be able to continue my journey here means everything to me," he said.

"I still feel I've got plenty to offer on the pitch, and I'll always be ready to contribute whenever I'm needed, but I'm also really excited about the opportunity to help some of the younger lads coming through."
