THE SAGA OF CHARLES JAGUSAH
It’s been a long journey with and for Notre Dame offensive lineman, Charles Jagusah. After spring ball there were still many questions surrounding Jagusah and his future as a player on this Notre Dame football team.
Marcus Freeman also provided updates for a handful of Irish players that are recovering from injuries as they head toward fall camp next month:
- Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa LB — He’s going to practice at the start of fall camp but he won’t be 100% to start.
- Khary Adams CB — Should be ready to go.
- Quincy Porter WR — Not 100% and it’s unclear when that will be.
- Joey O’Brien S — Should be ready to go.
- Brayden Robinson WR — Should be ready to go.
- Nick Reddish S — Should be ready to go.
- Tiki Hola DT — Should be ready to go.
- Chris Burgess DT — He won’t be full go for the start of fall camp.
CHOOSE HARD
A favorite battle cry of Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame is CHOOSE HARD. While most of the time this phrase applies to recruiting, it’s also about the way Notre Dame goes about its business. There are HUGE expectations this season, and rather than talk around them or dismiss them — Marcus Freeman is embracing those expectations.
THE HEAD COACH OF NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL
Much has been made about Marcus Freeman’s future at Notre Dame. Most of that has to do with the NFL talk, but on a number of occasions I’ve also brought up the possibility of him ending up at Ohio State at some point. I have been VERY firm on the point that if momma comes calling — baby boy will go home.
Except… maybe not anymore. Marcus really is making some strong statements about his future, and more than ever, he is reborn a Son of Notre Dame — and wants to stay that way.
TEU
Notre Dame has long been TEU, and some of the best to ever do it for the Irish over the last 30 years have played right away as freshmen. With former 5-Star TE Ian Premer, Notre Dame likely has its next one, and it couldn’t come at a better time. The Irish TE production has fell off for the last couple of seasons — mostly due to injury, but also because of how the offense is ran. Premer could reset the bar with a strong fall camp.
GAMING THE SYSTEM
We are living in wild times in the USA when it comes to pretty much everything right now. The predictive markets, for example, are some of the craziest areas of concern and Congress is getting involved.
MORE SECCESION TALK
This conversation isn’t going away even if it’s a total bluff. While the traditionalist in me just wants this to disappear, the anarchist in me wants the SEC to do the dumb thing and leave. It would have the potential to be one of the most brutal slow burns in sports history.
