Mike Preston, an actor who is best known for appearing in the film Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior as Pappagallo, died on June 8 in Florida at the age of 93.
Preston's wife, Josie Preston, confirmed the news of his death to Variety.
Along with his role in Mad Max 2, he also appeared in the Australian series Homicide as Detective Bob Delaney. He also had a recurring role in the soap opera Bellbird as well as roles in Dixon of Dock Green, Tandarra, Chopper Squad, and Cop Shop. Preston portrayed Alec Shaw in eight episodes of Hot Pursuit.
Throughout the ’80s and ’90s, Preston also appeared on Ellen, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Shadow Chasers, Outlaws, Superbly, Alien Nation, Dark Justice, Highlander, Steel, and Law & Order.
As for films, his first role was in 1969’s “Stoney," followed by a role in “Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn.” He also had a voice role in the video game “The Getaway,” which was released in 2002.
Fans paid tribute to Preston following news of his death.

Preston is survived by his wife and two daughters.
