Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen have broken up a year after they were named the runners-up on Love Island USA season seven, E! News confirmed.
While viewers fell in love with the pair after watching them explore a connection in Fiji last summer, the reality stars sometimes faced heat over how much they shared about their relationship post-show.
"Why does it matter if me and Nic are together?" Olandria told Cosmopolitan in June. "Even when we were at Coachella, people in the comments were like, 'Oh, I just needed proof that they saw each other this week.' Why are you so invested in people that don’t know you? That part kind of creeps me out, because I’m never that invested in someone’s relationship, and I’m not living for the internet. I don’t always post what people want me to or always do what people want me to do."

And while they might not have pulled fans in for every chat, the couple had suggested they were doing well.
"We’ve definitely been making progress with our connection and things like that," she told E! News in November. "So, I think we’re doing pretty good."
A key part of that, shared Nic, was their decision to keep their relationship more private, something he recommended for any future Love Island couples.
"If I were to give any advice about sharing your relationship, you don’t have do it after Love Island," he told E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes in April. "They make you think that you do, but you don’t."
And Nic and Olandria had no room in their villa for anyone who questioned whether their connection was real.
"It’s very draining to see the negative side of social media, whether it’s directed at me or me and Nic,” she told Elite Daily last September. "I see a lot of 'Oh, that’s not genuine.' I’m just like, 'Why would we keep this up?' It doesn’t even make sense. I’m not even in the villa anymore. I know the excuse at that time was 'Oh, this is the producers' doing.' Now, I’m like, 'Eh, all right, stop with that.'"
