The spot closed within the past week or so, the shopping center's leasing agent said.

An 8,000-square-foot liquor store in Kansas City’s Northland has closed.

Mass Beverage KC at 8640 N. Boardwalk Ave. closed sometime in the last week or so, said Jayme Miller, who handles the leasing for the Shops at Boardwalk.

Miller said they are looking for tenants to move into the space.

The family-owned store, which sold a variety of beer, wine and other spirits, opened in the space about two years ago.

Mass Beverage got its start in Lawrence and still operates there at 3131 Nieder Road. Its owners could not be immediately reached for comment.

The Northland, meanwhile, has a few other options for spirits. Worlds Liquors is nearby at 8108 NW Prairie View Road. Bubbles Wine & Spirits is at 7411 N. Oak Trafficway, and Gomer’s is in Parkville at 6298 Missouri Route 9.

Total Wine & More, the country’s largest wine and liquor superstore, operates a location at 8250 N. Evanston Ave.
