Ryan Gosling's "La La Land" wish is finally coming true.
The poster for the iconic 2016 film has been adjusted slightly ahead of its re-release in theatres Aug. 16 for its 10th anniversary. While the initial poster shows Gosling character Sebastian's hand titling downwards in what Gosling says is the "La La hand," the new poster shows his hand pointing upwards the same way Emma Stone's Mia's does. The tweak is one Gosling previously said he would have preferred.
"A minor adjustment," the film's official social media account says sharing the new poster.

The new poster was unveiled at the film's 10th anniversary celebration at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles on July 20.
"You can see they are vastly different," Lionsgate EVP and Head of Worldwide Television Marketing Justin Manfredi said while speaking at the event. "It's like night and day."
Manfredi said Gosling is happy with the change "cause we let him know and he approved it." He added all "La La Land" art across all platforms will be updated to reflect the new poster.
The actor, earlier this year in March, while promoting his film "Project Hail Mary," also threw "a Hail Mary" to fix the "La La Land" poster in honor of the film's 10th anniversary. Video shows Gosling standing at the same location from the 2016 film and jumping into a dance with his hand pointed upward, instead of at an angle.
'La La hand' haunts Gosling
Gosling, in May 2024, when asked by The Wall Street Journal about a role he'd like to "do over" had said "maybe 'La La Land'."
"There's a moment that haunts me where we're dancing," Gosling told the publication. "Emma and I didn't know this would become the poster for the movie. We were supposed to have our hands up and I thought it'd be cool to put my hand like that. Even though everyone told me it wasn't cool, I was sure that that was cooler than that."
The actor said now when he looks at the poster, which he has to see "all the time," he realizes it "would've been cooler" to keep it straight rather than at an angle.
"It just killed the energy that way," Gosling added. "It was sort of like all leading to what? Just like a lazy...I call it La La hand."
What to know about 'La La Land'
Written and directed by Damien Chazelle, "La La Land" follows Mia (Stone), an actress and Sebastian, a jazz musician, pursuing their "Hollywood dreams" and "finding each other in a vibrant celebration of hope, dreams, and love," according to the film's synopsis. The film won six Academy Awards including best director for Chazelle, best actor for Gosling and best actress for Stone. It also took home seven Golden Globes.
The film also went down in Oscar history after presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty accidentally awarded it the best picture instead of coming-of-age drama "Moonlight." The real winner "Moonlight" was announced midway through the "La La Land" creative team's speeches, leading to shocked gasps from both the folks onstage and in the audience, USA TODAY reported.
