Best Overall Madewell European Styles

Getting dressed on vacation is a lot easier when every piece in your suitcase works together, so before my upcoming Europe trip, I headed to Madewell to build outfits instead of buying individual items. More than three hours and plenty of dressing-room selfies later, I had tried on everything from linen pants and matching sets to breezy maxi dresses and vacation-ready accessories to see what was actually worth packing.

The timing couldn’t have been better. Madewell is hosting an End of Season Sale, which is already packed with major deals, but using the code LASTCHANCE unlocks even deeper discounts on many of my favorite finds—including pieces that are up to 70 percent off. After narrowing it all down, these are the 10 travel outfits that earned a spot in my suitcase for Europe and the rest of my summer vacations.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of cream jeans, and these immediately earned a spot in my suitcase. As someone who’s 5’3”, finding jeans that aren’t too long or too short is a constant struggle, but The Perfect Vintage Wide-leg Crop Jeans hit at exactly the right length.

I styled them with the Lace-trim Ribbed Tank Top, draped the striped Boatneck Pullover Sweater over my shoulders for chilly evenings, and finished the look with red thong sandals, a woven tote, and a raffia bucket hat. It’s the kind of effortless coastal outfit I’ll be wearing everywhere from Mallorca for seaside lunches, strolls through local markets, and waterfront dinners, to Nantucket, Charleston, and beyond. Even better, several of these key pieces are heavily discounted right now, making it the perfect time to recreate the look before your next vacation.

The second I slipped into this matching set, I knew it’d be coming with me to Europe. The Pointelle-stitch Tie-front Sweater Tank and coordinating maxi skirt are equal parts flattering and comfortable, making them an easy choice for everything from beach clubs in Ibiza to sunset dinners by the water in Barcelona. I finished the look with the Sculptural Puka Shell Choker Necklace, which is just $30 now, and the Logaan Aviator Sunglasses for a fun vacation-ready feel that would fit right in everywhere from Greece to the Hamptons. Even better, every piece of the outfit is currently on sale, with each item priced under $100.

A linen midi skirt is one of the most versatile pieces you can pack for a Europe trip, and I loved this one instantly. It’s lightweight enough for hot days, but still looks polished, especially when paired with a classic white tee. I finished the outfit with a Handwoven Fish Crossbody Bag, matching green heeled sandals, and oval sunglasses for a look that’s equal parts comfortable and elevated.

This is exactly what I’ll be wearing while wandering the streets of Mallorca, but it’d work just as well for exploring any charming European town. The playful fish bag adds a fun statement without overpowering the outfit, and I have a feeling this is one of those looks that’ll earn compliments everywhere I go.

Madewell’s The Rylee Mini Dress was one of the most flattering dresses I tried on all day, and at just $50, it was an instant yes. Made from 100 percent cotton, it’s lightweight enough for hot vacation days while transitioning seamlessly from daytime exploring to dinner. I styled it with a brown-and-white bandana for an easy way to switch up the look without taking up valuable suitcase space, then finished it with the Caning Tote Bag, which is 70 percent off, and classic ballet flats

Catch me wearing this striped matching set all vacation long. The Easy Shirt and Pull-on Shorts strike the perfect balance between comfortable and put-together, and I love the subtle preppy, nautical feel of the navy-and-white stripes. I layered the button-down over a simple white tee, but it’d look just as good thrown over a swimsuit on the way to the beach.

To finish the look, I added the Aliyah Thong Sandals in Paracord, which are as comfortable as they are cool, along with the Beaded Tote Bag for a playful touch. It’s an easy way to incorporate patterns into your vacation wardrobe without sacrificing versatility, since you can wear each piece together or style them separately throughout your trip.

I immediately fell for the Airy Denim Maxi Slip Dress because it’s incredibly soft, lightweight, and drapey without feeling heavy. The adjustable straps make it easy to find the perfect fit, and it’s one of those pieces you can wear with flat sandals during the day or dress up with heels for dinner.

I paired it with a colorful wood-beaded necklace and the beaded tote bag to give the outfit a more playful, vacation-ready feel. It’s exactly the kind of effortless look I’ll be packing for Spain, but I’ll be wearing it long after my trip is over, too.

If quiet luxury is your vacation aesthetic, this is the outfit to copy. I’m a sucker for a good pair of linen pants, and Madewell’s Pull-on Pants instantly won me over—they’re made from 100 percent linen, fit beautifully, and cost less than $100, which is surprisingly hard to find. I kept the neutral palette going with a crisp white button-down and an open-knit cardigan draped over my shoulders for an extra layer.

The result is a relaxed Mediterranean resort style that feels sophisticated without trying too hard. Finished with simple thong sandals, it’s comfortable, effortless, and easy to mix and match with the rest of your vacation wardrobe.

This outfit channels French Riviera meets ‘90s minimalism in the best way. The Linen shorts are a must-pack for any warm-weather trip, and I paired them with a striped tee that feels sporty, casual, and effortlessly cool. The teal stripes even coordinate with the jelly flip-flops for a subtle pop of color that ties the whole look together.

Finished with a braided belt, which is now 72 percent off, and oval sunglasses, this is the kind of outfit I’d throw on for a morning coffee run, strolling the waterfront, or exploring a new city all afternoon.

This is exactly what I’ll wear for wandering Mallorca’s Old Town, lingering over a leisurely lunch, or exploring the island’s charming villages. The linen shorts are one of my favorite finds from the sale—they’re half off and have the look of classic denim cutoffs thanks to the color, but they’re much lighter and more comfortable in the summer heat.

My favorite part of the outfit is the oversized shell necklace, which adds a playful coastal touch to the embroidered eyelet tank. I finished the look with the red striped beach tote and comfy thong sandals for an outfit that feels relaxed, colorful, and ready for vacation.

Outfit 10

The Ruched V-neck Maxi Dress was one of my favorite pieces I tried on, because it’s flattering, breezy, and has a romantic, vintage-inspired feel thanks to its flowy chocolate-and-ivory floral print. It strikes the perfect balance between elevated and relaxed, making it an easy choice for vacation evenings.

I paired it with cream strappy sandals, a matching woven shoulder bag, and the Oversized Droplet Stud Earrings that add just the right amount of polish without competing with the print. It’s a timeless look I’d happily wear for a wine tasting, sunset cocktails, or an al fresco dinner on vacation.
