How to watch PBA Governors' Cup: Fixtures, results, all you need to know

The road to the PBA Governors' Cup championship begins anew as the league opens its season-ending conference on July 10, with playdates every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Here's everything you need to know before the conference tips off.

The 13 PBA teams will once again be split into two groups in a double-round robin elimination. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, where crossover best-of-three series await before the tournament shifts to the traditional best-of-seven semifinals and Finals.

This year's edition also features the return of the Macau Giant Pandas as the league's guest team, after participating in the past Commissioner's Cup.

The conference will also be unlike any other, as the PBA schedule has been carefully structured around Gilas Pilipinas' international commitments. The tournament will take a break after Aug. 14 to accommodate the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers third window and the 20th Asian Games.

Eliminations are scheduled for Oct. 7 to 21, while quarterfinals start on Oct. 25.

The conference will take another break in November for the fifth window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian Qualifiers, before the semifinals and Finals take place in December.

• Jimmy Alapag made a winning debut as head coach of the NLEX Road Warriors
• Import DeQuan Jones posted 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Kevin Alas had an efficient night off the bench with 19 points in 19 minutes.

Saturday, July 11 (Ynares Center, Montalban)

5:15 p. m.: Blackwater Bossing 131-108 Rain or Shine Elasto Painters

• Import Kentrell Barkley introduced himself in the league with a triple-double of 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead Blackwater to a 131-108 victory over Rain or Shine.
• Starting backcourt Sedrick Barefield and RK Ilagan backed him up with 24 and 22 points respectively.

7:30 p. m.: Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters 98-86 Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots

• Phoenix erased a 16-point first half deficit to get their first win of the conference with a 98-86 victory over Magnolia.
• Import BJ Johnson top scored with 34 points and Jason Perkins led the local production with 23 markers.

Sunday, July 12 (Ynares Center, Montalban)

5:15 p. m.: NLEX Road Warriors 101-100 Terrafirma Dyip

• NLEX survived a furious Terrafirma rally to get a precarious 101-100 triumph to get their second consecutive win.
• DeQuan Jones bounced back and led the way with 30 points on 55% shooting from the field.

7:30 p. m.: Titan Ultra Giant Risers 74-105 Converge FiberXers

• Converge started its Governors' Cup in dominant fashion, leading by as many as 36 points.
• A well-rounded offensive team performance saw import Jalen Hudson lead the way with 20 points, flanked by Archie Concepcion's 16 points off the bench. 

Tuesday, July 14 (Ynares Center, Antipolo)

5:15 p. m.: NLEX Road Warriors 135-100 Titan Ultra Giant Risers

• All-around performances for NLEX's starting backcourt, as Schonny Winston put up 30 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, and Robert Bolick posted 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
• Tirrell Brown made his debut with 27 points and 10 rebounds for Titan Ultra. The team played All-Filipino in their first two losses.

7:30 p. m.: San Miguel Beermen 123-109 Macau Giant Pandas

• In his first game with the Beermen, George King displayed his overall offensive prowess with 26 points and 7 assists on 62.5% shooting from the field.
• Rodney Brondial stuffed the stat sheet as the starting center of the team in lieu of the injured June Mar Fajardo with 10 points, 25 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals on 5-of-5 shooting, while the first game of Jerrick Ahanmisi in a San Miguel uniform was also impressive with 16 points.

Wednesday, July 15 (Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City)

5:15 p. m.: Converge FiberXers 105-103 Terrafirma Dyip

• Justin Arana's inside domination leads Converge with 31 points and 10 rebounds on 73.7% shooting, while Juan Gomez de Liano added 19 markers; Justine Baltazar had a solid double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds, including a game-saving block against Aljon Mariano.
• Terrafirma's import Justin Strings posted 40 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Juami Tiongson continued his resurgence with 16 points off the bench.

7:30 p. m.: Meralco Bolts 97-98 Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters

• Phoenix's Kenneth Tuffin set the tone with three triples in the first quarter and finished off the victory with two go-ahead made free throws with 13 seconds; he put up 17 points and 7 rebounds
• Allein Maliksi had a vintage outing for Meralco, with 16 points, while Brandon Bates delivered an double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds
• Meralco played without an import, as Jordon Varnado is nursing a calf strain. The team has signed Antonio Hester as a replacement with Varnado placed in the reserve list for the meantime.

Friday, July 17 (Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Manila)

5:15 p. m.: Macau Giant Pandas 124-149 Converge FiberXers

• Justin Arana produced a career-high performance of 39 points and 12 rebounds on 18-for-24 shooting from the field.
• Ramon Cao led Macau with 41 points and a record-tying five 4-pointers made. Import De'vondre Perry added 35, while Kobey Lam also had 26 markers -- as the trio accounted for 102 of the Black Pandas' total
• Damian Chongqui was also assessed a disqualifying foul in the second quarter after throwing the ball aggressively towards the referee.

7:30 p. m.: Blackwater Bossing 89-81 Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots

• Kentrell Barkley put up 26 points and RK Ilagan backed him up as well with 20 points to help Blackwater already match its win total in the past conference (2-10).
• Magnolia import KJ Buffen had a better second game with 32 points on 6-for-9 shooting from beyond the arc. However, the star duo of the Hotshots -- Zav Lucero and Jerom Lastimosa -- combined for just 7-for-22 from the field.

Saturday, July 18 (Ynares Center, Antipolo)

5:15 p. m.: Terrafirma Dyip 104-109 San Miguel Beermen

• George King lorded over Terrafirma with 37 points and 14 rebounds, while CJ Perez chipped in with 22 points and Don Trollano added 17 markers off the bench.
• Juami Tiongson balled out against his former team with 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists on 55% shooting, as Terrafirma lost its third straight game after mounting comebacks in the fourth quarter. 

7:30 p. m.: Rain or Shine Elasto Painters 114-122 Meralco Bolts

• Jason Brickman orchestrated a strong offensive showing with 19 points and 7 assists on 3-for-5 shooting from downtown. Antonio Hester's debut as import of Meralco resulted with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
• The bench crew also became key for the Bolts with Chris Banchero and Bong Quinto contributing 15 and 14 points respectively.
• Aaron Fuller's efficient night of 28 points on a 81.2% clip from the field went for naught. Adrian Nocum added 21 points off the bench and rookie Deo Cuajao shot the ball well with 19 points powered by three 3-pointers and one 4-pointer. 

Sunday July 19 (Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City)

5:15 p. m.: TNT Tropang 5G 106-103 Macau Giant Pandas

• Rey Nambatac starts off the conference on a high note with 23 points and 6 assists. Import Darius Days also contributed 23 points of his own alongside 6 rebounds and 3 assists, while RR Pogoy added 21 markers.
• Macau was once again led by Import De'Vondre Perry with 36 points and 10 rebounds and only sat down 17 seconds of live action. Damian Chongqui also had 24 points off the bench

7:30 p. m.: Barangay Ginebra San Miguel 78-81 Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters

• Phoenix denied the much anticipated debut of new Ginebra import Riley Grigsby, led by BJ Johnson's 23 points and Ricci Rivero's 16 points to start 3-0 in a conference for the first time since the 2019 Philippine Cup.
• The aforementioned Grigsby turned in an impressive outing of 42 points and 13 rebounds.
