A new batch of library cards quietly landed at the Obama Presidential Center's library this week, I learned from faithful reader Ina "Breakfast Queen" Pinkney.
Why it matters: Scores of library nerds, like me, were heartbroken when the first batch of 5,000 was snapped up in a few weeks last month, and this batch is likely to go even faster.
Reality check: The OPC library card works at all Chicago Public Library branches.

How to get one: Chicagoans must visit the OPC library in person and present an ID with a current address or recent piece of mail proving residence to receive a free card.
- Non-Chicagoans can obtain one with a current ID and a $5 fee.
