Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) was blunt about Democratic Party leadership as controversy over fatal shootings by immigration agents in Maine and Texas swirls.
Speaking Tuesday on MS NOW’s Money, Power, Politics with Stephanie Ruhle, Moulton told the CNN host former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem should be held accountable for ICE’s actions under her watch, including the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Noem was fired by Trump in March.
Moulton said Democrats need to do more, and called out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY):
STEPHANIE RUHLE: Okay, Congressman, we mentioned this Homeland Security briefing that your colleagues are set to receive.
Give us an update on all of this. I mean, we’ve got viewers writing to us every day saying whatever happened with Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Like, can we even get an update? And our answer is like, Yo, I don’t know.
MOULTON: Nothing because we’re not doing enough to hold them accountable. Right?
And look at, look at Kristi Noem. Like just gets to ride off into the sunset on her horse with Corey Lewandowski.
You know, how about we hold her accountable for all her corruption at the department? How about we hold her accountable for breaking the law? How about we hold her accountable for the murders that happened under her watch because the thugs she hired?
RUHLE: Is there a game plan for Democrats to do that? Let’s say you take control after the midterms.
MOULTON: Well, there better be.
RUHLE Okay. But you’re the like. So I’m asking, are you in some other Democrats getting together? Is there a notebook that says, come December, here’s what we’re going to do.
MOULTON: Look, I’m sorry for being impolite, but I don’t think anyone looks at Chuck Schumer and says, okay, he’s going to do this. He’s going to hold this accountable because he has not.
“These ICE thugs should be in jail, not just off the streets, in jail,” he added.
