HBO's hit reality sports franchise is back with a major series first in the new season of Hard Knocks.
Debuting in 2001 to follow the Baltimore Ravens throughout their post-Super Bowl-winning season, each iteration of HBO's Hard Knocks focuses on the personal and professional lives of an NFL team's players, coaches, and staff during their training camp, regular season, or offseason. Though there are 32 teams in the NFL, only 16 franchises have been featured on Hard Knocks over the past 25 years, with this summer's episodes marking the Seattle Seahawks' first-ever coverage on the popular HBO series.
HBO has now unveiled the first trailer for Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks, which will feature a total of five episodes following the reigning champions after their Super Bowl LX win in February. Also available to stream on HBO Max, Hard Knocks' first Seahawks season premieres on August 4 with new episodes releasing weekly on Tuesday nights. Facing the New England Patriots in a rematch of the 2015 Super Bowl, in which the Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24 after a divisive final play, the Seattle Seahawks prevailed in the 2026 Super Bowl in Las Vegas with a 29-13 win. The Seahawks' winning Super Bowl was led by second-year Coach Mike Macdonald, quarterback Sam Darnold (in his first season with the team), Offensive Player-of-the-Year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and MVP running back Kenneth Walker III, the latter of whom will begin playing for the Kansas City Chiefs in the upcoming NFL season.
The Seattle Seahawks now head into the 2026-2027 season with two Super Bowl championships, the first being their 2014 win over the Denver Broncos, with the new Hard Knocks season's upcoming five episodes focusing on Macdonald, Smith-Njigba, and Darnold as they look to repeat their 2025 season's success. With training held over the summer at the team's facility in Renton, Washington, the season will also feature returning standout defensive players Devon Witherspoon and Byron Murphy II.
Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks marks the first time since the series' inaugural 2001 installment that the series has followed the NFL's reigning Super Bowl champions, making it one of the most anticipated entries in the hit TV show's history. The season will be narrated by Hard Knocks' Liev Schreiber, who has served as the series' narrator for all but one season, as Paul Rudd took over for the show's coverage of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2007.
Following the finale episode of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks on September 1, HBO has already confirmed which franchise will serve as the 2027 season's focus. Also serving as their first time as the subject of Hard Knocks in franchise history, the New England Patriots will be at the center of the HBO show after the Seahawks.
