Globe Life Insurance Review 2026: Coverage, Cost & Insights

Globe Life sells term life insurance and small whole life insurance policies for children and adults, but it has a high level of complaints

Key takeaways

  • Globe Life’s policies are issued quickly with a simple application.
  • Its term life insurance rates increase in five-year increments.
  • The company’s complaint level is almost three times the national average.

Our expert take on Globe Life

Globe Life makes it easy to buy life insurance but difficult to track down information about its products. The company did not respond to our requests for basic information about its life insurance, such as information concerning the maximum age to buy a policy, term life conversion options, life insurance riders and more.

Rates. Globe Life’s term insurance rates increase in five-year increments, regardless of when you buy the policy. Unlike most term life insurance competitors, Globe Life does not sell 10-, 20-, or 30-year level-term insurance policies.

The company advertises a “$1 buys $100,000” deal for its term life insurance and “$1 buys $30,000” for its children’s life insurance. But that price only applies to the first month’s premiums.

The rates for its children’s whole life policies are lower than the average in our analysis.

Application. You can purchase a Globe Life insurance policy quickly without a life insurance medical exam

Complaints and customer service. Globe Life’s complaint level for individual life insurance is almost three times the industry average, based on data from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

Globe Life received a slightly above-average score for customer-service in JD Power’s 2025 Individual Life Insurance Study.

Globe Life insurance products

Globe Life sells term life, whole life, children’s whole life and final-expense insurance.

Term life insurance

Globe Life’s term life insurance is a term-to-90 policy with coverage lasting until age 90. Coverage options range from $5,000 to $100,000. With this modified-premium policy, your rates will increase according to a predetermined schedule— five-year increments for policyholders ages 21 and over. There is a three-year rate band for ages 18 to 20.

This rate schedule is less common, as many insurers offer level-term periods with fixed rates for 10, 20 or 30 years, including the companies that earned spots in our best term insurance companies analysis

Globe Life advertises that “$1 buys $100,000,” but be aware that it only applies to the first month’s premiums. Following the first month, the premium increases to a standard rate based on the coverage amount and your age at the time of purchase.

There’s a simple application and you don’t need to take a life insurance medical exam. You can add an optional accidental-death benefit for an additional cost.

Whole life insurance

Whole life insurance is a type of permanent life insurance that has fixed premiums and a guaranteed death benefit. Rates remain the same each year and the policy can build cash value at a guaranteed rate.

Globe Life sells whole life insurance for adults and children:

  • Adult policies with $5,000 to $50,000 in coverage.
  • Children’s policies (for children as young as 0) with $5,000 to $30,000 in coverage. Rates do not increase over time, meaning a child can maintain coverage at the same rate for the rest of their life.

Globe Life also sells final-expense insurance policies, which are small policies to help with funeral and burial costs and other end-of-life expenses.

How much does Globe Life insurance cost?

Rates for Globe Life’s term life insurance are based on five-year bands. You start by paying the rate based on your age at purchase, and your monthly premiums increase as you get older.

Premiums for Globe Life’s children’s whole life policies are lower than the average based on our analysis of companies that specialize in children’s life insurance.

Globe Life’s customer satisfaction and financial strength

Globe Life received an about-average customer-satisfaction rating in the 2025 JD Power U.S. Individual Life Insurance Study. Globe Life had a score of 653 versus an average of 650.

However, Globe Life has a complaint level that’s almost three times the national average for its individual life insurance, based on data from the NAIC. Most complaints are related to policyholder service, which can include issues like delays, lack of communication and billing issues, among others. Its level of complaints has been decreasing—from over six times the national average in 2023. The best life insurance companies in our analysis all have lower-than-average levels of complaints.

Globe Life did not respond to our request for comment about its high level of complaints.

Globe Life has a financial-strength rating of A (Excellent) from AM Best, which is the third-highest rating level.
