The New York Giants have been picking in the top 10 basically for a decade straight. So, it's understandable why their young talent is extremely strong.
The Giants ranked ninth on ESPN.com's list of the NFL's top under-25 talents.
New York's No. 9 ranking dropped from fourth in 2025 because safety Tyler Nubin and edge Kayvon Thibodeaux graduated from the list. But the Giants still posted five blue-chip prospects and landed in the top 10 thanks to non-first-round draft picks such as Cam Skattebo, Colton Hood and Dru Phillips.
The Giants Ranked No. 9 on ESPN's List of Under-25 Talent
The Giants have made five first-round selections in the past three drafts, four of which were top-10 picks. So it's no surprise each player, Arvell Reese, Francis Mauigoa, Abdul Carter, Jaxson Dart and Malik Nabers, was considered a blue-chip prospect.
"The Giants' young talent is very top-heavy, with five recent first-round picks that I identified as blue chip players," ESPN's Aaron Schatz wrote. "The youngest among them is Reese, who is 20. Mauigoa is 21, and Carter is 22. Dart and Nabers are both 23."
Reese (No. 5) and Mauigoa (No. 10) are expected to start as rookies after being chosen in the top 10 in April's draft. Carter is considered the Giants' most valuable player, and Dart is, of course, the potential franchise QB.
Only Nabers' status is in doubt, since he is coming off a devastating knee injury that ended his 2025 season in Week 4. But if healthy, Nabers has NFL Offensive Player of the Year potential, since he posted a Giants' franchise record 109 catches in his rookie season.
With Decent Coaching, the Giants Could Be Really Good Soon
It's clear the Giants have talent, but they need to develop that skill and potential into NFL-caliber play.
Good coaching makes good talent better. The Giants have had feckless and ineffective leadership since Tom Coughlin retired after the 2015 season, which is a main reason why they have just 44 wins in the past nine seasons.
That's where head coach John Harbaugh and his staff come into play. Harbaugh has a .614 career win% and already ranks 14th all-time on the NFL coaching wins list with 180 victories, after 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.
Harbaugh is already changing the Giants' culture. So after a decade in the NFL abyss, 2026 may be the year they finally start to crawl out.
